Foreign trade deficit of Bosnia and Hercegovina for the period of the first 11 months of this year equals 7.2 billion KM
“Foreign trade deficit of Bosnia and Hercegovina for the period of the first 11 months of this year equals 7.2 billion KM”, Zdenko Milinovic, the director of the Bureau of Census, announced yesterday.
He pointed out the fact that the export of the goods from Bosnia and Hercegovina to the foreign market in the period of the first 11 months was worth 5.5 billion KM, whereas the import equaled 12.7 billion KM, which is to say that the cover of imports by exports was 43.2 %. “Such a state is the result of the decrease in production after the war, and the competitiveness of our country on foreign markets is not satisfactory. However, there is a constant tendancy of the growth of import.”, Milinovic thinks. Bureau of Census stated that the metal industry took the biggest part in the export, whereas food and drink production largely accounts for the import.
“The most of goods was exported to Croatia, and they are worth billion KM, followed by EU, where the worth of export amounted to 3.2 billion KM. They are at the same time the markets that we mostly imported goods from. The import from Croatia equaled 2.2 billion KM, and from EU 6 billion KM.”, Milinovic said. Discussing the salaries, he said that in October of this year the average net salary per month totaled 661 KM, which is the rise of 10.4% in comparison to the same month of the last year.
“The average gross salary came to 978 KM, and compared to the same month of the last year it is 10.1% higher”, Milinovic said.
He also added that the total of the people employed in Bosnia and Hercegovina in October was 679.236 most of them working in hotels, restaurants and commerce department , whereas the unemployed population amounted to 620.014 people, which means that unemployment rate equals 43.4%. (SEEBiz)
