Serb turns down Croatian vice-presidency 11 January 2008 | 12:42 | Source: B92 ZAGREB -- SDSS President Milorad Pupovac has turned down the post of Croatian vice-president for “personal reasons”.
“It is primarily a personal decision, and it has been confirmed by the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS) presidency,” said Pupovac.
The SDSS president had been expected to become vice-president for regional development and renewal. His place will now be taken by fellow SDSS member Slobodan Uzelac, the current state secretary at the Education Ministry. Pupovac did not wish to reveal whether he would take part in any of the Croatian parliament’s committees.
