If Montenegro and Croatia regognise Kosovo it will only damage themselves, the balkans need a strong stable serbia, all the above nations will prosper if they finally bury the hatchet and get along!

^^ Croatia are famous for selling out the Balkans and themselves. This could have serious repocautions for Montenegro though..............
Serbias promise of freezing ties with countries who recognise Kosovos Independance may not mean anything to nations like Germany, Switzerland, France etc but to small countries reliant on trade, education, transport etc with Serbia this could be big.

Hope Serbia reacts to all three:
1. Declares the Krajina issue alive again 2. Starts supporting seperatism among Montenegrin Serbs 3. Pulls back on the favourable treatment given to Hungarians in Vojvodina

Exactly CiKoLa, Croatia, Albania and Macedonia will join NATO. (then in the next five years all three join the EU, thats how I see it), then after that in the window of 5 years Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia join together. As for why Croatia should support Kosovo's independence? Answer: Because we Albanians supported the Croats in the war and actually had soldiers in the Croatian army. We're like brate when it comes to fighting the Serbs. Hvala vam Hrvatska again. Mesic has always supported our cause. (from the beginning)

Fender does have a point. Being an ally is one thing, being 'brothers' is another. Croats generally view Albanians as lower-class beings, but do consider them a worthwhile ally because of anti-Serbian politics. You don't know because you live in the diaspora, but go around Croatia claiming an Albanian-Croatian brotherhood and people will laugh at you.

I dont think Ilir meant brothers as in blood relatives. Many Albanians dont view Slavs on the same level too. I think he meants brothers as in Allies.

Cikola, if that's all you see happening in the Balkans in the next 5-10 years, then you have a whole lot of reading to do. Tensions are rising day by day, and shit is about to hit the fan. The situation in the Balkans won't just cause instability in the balkans, but the whole world. We have Kosovo to thank for that.

Yeah exactly, I meant brothers as in allies, friends.
And Mapko, dear friend, I have lots of Croatian friends here in the US (massachusetts to be exact), and me and my brother hang with with all the time, and are even planning on visiting both Croatia and Kosovo together.
We have never had a problem with the Croats or Bosnians or even Montenegrins. It was just the Serbians who tried to control our lifes and made living a hell which we had a problem with.
