Ðukanoviæ: Pressure to recognize 9 September 2008 Milo Ðukanoviæ (Beta, archive)
Montenegrin PM Milo Ðukanoviæ says that “certain parts of the international community“ expect Podgorica to recognize Kosovo.
“There are expectations in certain parts of the international community, and those expectations aren’t surprising. If we want to be part of the European and Euro-Atlantic community, then our partners from those communities expect us to follow the main foreign policy paths of that community,” Ðukanoviæ told journalists in Berane.
Asked whether and when Montenegro would recognize Kosovo’s unilateral independence, the prime minister replied that it was “the duty of the authorities to be guided, first and foremost, by state interests.”
Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) deputy leader Svetozar Maroviæ recently acknowledged that there was pressure on Montenegro to make its position clear on Kosovo’s status, while the U.S. and UK ambassadors in Podgorica have said that their governments expect the countries of the region to establish diplomatic relations with Priština.

I like this repsonse on B92:
''If we want to be part of the European and Euro-Atlantic community, then our partners from those communities expect us to follow the main foreign policy paths of that community,”
Wait wait wait, I was under impression that EU was an economic Union not a dictatorial superstate with collective foregin policy. Ah well, I guess arguments of Nigel Farage hold more true than anything ever to come out of European Officials's mouth.
How ironic, and particulary so for Croatia and Montenegro how they 'heroically' broke away from evil claws of Serbia seeking soverginity, but then would sell their souls to be second class citizens in United States of Europe.
Serbs, Montenegrians, Albanians and Croatians, you are a CHEAP labour for the West that will do the jobs they don't want to do for the less money they did it for. You are disposable military force noone would think twice sending to our deaths over Euro-American imperialism.
It is naive to think 'democratic' Wests treats anyone East of Germany as their equals. (BKK, 9 September 2008 10:39)

"main foreign policy paths of that community"
1) No such thing as some recognize Kosovo and some do not. 2) Russia is also to be considered. 3) Serbia and Serb minority is to be considered. 4) Fact that EU could care less about W Balkans to be considered. (in terms that it will not do anything to fundamentally improve them)
Kosovo is none of Montenegrin business and there is absolutely no reason for Montenegro to get involved nor will it benefit out of doing so. If anything Kosovo is a precedent that shows that countries can be dismantled and broken apart and new entities can be formed as protectorates of bigger powers. Russia has also learned that lesson as we can see in Georgia.

There is no Pandora Box.
The West more correctly USA is fixing the Europeans mistake to split Kosova from Albania in 1912.

There is no Pandora Box.
There is actualy...... If there was one thing small countries could count on was international law to protect there soverignty, that was thrown out the window and now these countries have to hide under the umbrella of the major players. While it is true that alliances were always there, and descisions where dictated by the larger players there was a mechanism to protect a weaker state, that is no longer true.

Milos Obilic) imaju veliku ulogu u kulturi crnogoraca (npr. narodne epske pesme, gulse, ordenje tipa medalja Obilica). mnogi crnogorci poticu sa Kosova i Metohije.

No longer true unless the weaker state is your country today. But when Albania was formed, half of its demographics make-up were left outside its borders. Now that was ridiculous. Did the major player then care about it? And the world has not ended yet with every small country trying to break because Pandora's box was opened. Pandora's Box was opened... and nothing happened.

Srpska laz!! Vasa svetosavska propaganda nije vise vjerana u Crnoj Gori!
