Montenegrin Kosovo decision at UN GA 18 September 2008 | 17:54 | Source: Beta NIKŠIÆ -- Montenegrin President Filip Vujanoviæ will announce his country's decision regarding Kosovo at the UN General Assembly.
"There is still enough time for Vujanoviæ to make consultations with the most important political figures in Montenegro, so that they could take a relevant position on this circumstance as well," Beta quoted PM Milo Ðukanoviæ as saying in Nikšiæ on Thursday.
The ruling coalition in Podgorica has determined a resolution on European integrations, which some see as an introduction into the recognition of Kosovo.
The media in that country reported that Montenegro's position will depend on whether the UN General Assembly adopts a Serbian resolution, proposing that the International Court of Justice, ICJ, give its opinion on the legality of the Kosovo Albanians' unilateral declaration of independence.
According to this, should the UN reject Serbia's ICJ initiative, Montenegro will "move very quickly to recognize Kosovo".

Montenegro recognizes Kosovo's independence
PODGORICA, Montenegro: Montenegro has recognized the independence of Kosovo in defiance of staunch opposition from its traditional ally Serbia.
The decision by Montenegro's government on Thursday is certain to raise tensions between the two Balkan countries that comprised a single state until 2006.
Lawmakers in Macedonia are also discussing whether to recognize Kosovo's February split from Serbia. Macedonia is another of Serbia's close neighbors.
