Something from old forum archives (to spice it up in a new forum) ------- radoolian: Your oppinion ----------------------------------------------------------------- I'd like to hear your true oppinions about your neighbours, something like who are the neighbours who you tolerate most or those nations with whom you're having disputes, and mention what kind of disputes. Try to stay focused on facts. This thread has been posted an all forums. Thnks

replies ------ Edlund40: Re: Your oppinion ----------------------------------------------------------------- I think that the bigger part of the bulgarians have nothing against any of our neighbours. Linguistically and historically we are the same as the macedonians, and linguistically we are close to the serbians. From what I've seen and heard, the bulgarians are different from all our neighbours, because we are not chauvinists, while especially serbians and greeks are. Of course there are exceptions, (people like our friend Ljuboten ) but I speak about them as a whole. We have disputes with the macedonians about the history, but every bulgarian knows many "macedonian" songs (bulgarian songs from the region of Macedonia, popular also in FYROM) and the average bulgarian views the macedonians as kinsmen. Of course the situation changes when we speak to a guy from FYROM and see the sizes of the brainwashing. In the bulgarian discotheques you can hear serbian, greek and turkish songs, many people like them. About the turkish people - they are 10% of the population, but are integrated, they have no problems with the bulgarians, they are respecting the law etc. Because they ruled us for almost 500 years, and the most of our famous revolutioners and poets were fighting against the turkish rule, there's a negativity about them. But today's turks are not responsible for what their ancestors did, and I even think that the turkish rule could have been much worse. About the rumanians - never heard of any problems with them, there were also not much fights during the wars, which is unusual for two neighbouring Balkan countries. There are also a lot cultural similarities between bulgarians and rumanians. RuseBG: Re: Your oppinion ----------------------------------------------------------------- It is quite a long theme and I am lazy now. But what is the most important thing - we have no major problems with any of our neighbours (infact our relations have never been better) with the exception of Fyrom. And that is strange because in the bigger part of Fyrom the population is of Bulgarian origin. Unfortunately, as Edlund said - brainwashed Eugeniu: Re: Your oppinion ---------------------------------------------------------------- In Romania we only have problems with russians, i am happy for you bulgarians you have no common border with the former USSR. I know Romania doesnt have common border with Russia, but russian imperialism is sensed through Ukraine.
