For fun, lets assume (as I have read some replies here) that some 'Yugoslavs' (people who feel primarily as such or sympathetic to it) were given some lands to create their country.
I will post bellow some options with some basic data on each one via a link. Lets call it Yugoland. Look through them and vote after that on which one seems most appealing.
*Each (mainly isolated) land is large with coast, its poorly populated and climate is similar to Mediterranean climate.
-------
Western Sahara
(Size of Former Yugoslavia with 270,000)
(*nomadic herding, fishing, and phosphate mining)
(*mainly consisting of desert flatlands)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Sahara
-------
Namibia
(Size of over 3 former Yugoslavias with 1.8 million people)
(*Huge non-fuel mineral reserves, uranium, diamonds)
(*arable land accounts for only 1% of Namibia which is mainly desert)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namibia
-------
South Island (New Zealand)
(Size of 60% of Former Yugoslavia or 2 Serbias with 1 million people)
(*Mountains, greenery. manufacturing, agriculture, mining etc.)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Island
-------
Western Australia
(Size of over 10 Former Yugoslavias with 2.1 million people)
(*range of minerals and petroleum / mostly desert)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_australia
-------
Baja California Sur (Mexico)
(Size of 1/3 of Former Yugoslavia, like Serbia, with 500,000 people)
(*perhaps best option, strong tourist destination, whales)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baja_California_Sur
-------
Vancouver Island (Canada)
(Size of 13% of Former Yugoslavia, like Macedonia, with 700,000 people)
(*over 300,000 live in southern corner where Victoria lies)
(*mostly green, outside Victoria largely forestry, tourism & fishing)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vancouver_Island
--------
if not too much of a bite lets consider also one bellow
-------
Lybia
(Size of 7 Former Yugoslavias with 6.2 million people)
(*Huge Oil reserves)(*90% desert)
(* Just south of Balkans / Cerene was a Greek colony)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrene,_Libya
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lybia
-------
option is also somehow getting back Western Balkans
