gypsy. the left on the front is some northern alpine though.. physical anthropology is s.hit...it doesnt say anything...only 10% of our genes determine our appearance...the insiders make dna tests and work with haplogroups and matches on alleles.

Well...everyone wants to know his origins...if you start to attend to such stuff you dont understand anything at the beginning...later on its just exciting.
Physical anthropology doesnt have reliability...you can look like an albanian and nevertheless have extremely many matches with Germans, or Turks or sth like that. A dna test gives you numbers....numbers are factual....honest...they arent driven by emotions...or wishful thinking. I like them.

I have been thinking about doing the whole 100$ genetic test.... but money is difficult, its sounds like a lot of fun though, although it could break my heart as well... its a double-edged sword...

yes thats true. But see it this way...you know the truth then...and thats more valuable than your wishes. In the end you learn one thing...Europe is a big mishmash...this goes for every people..its very probable that even your parents are of different origins.
The best thing is if your expectations are confirmed....especially if you have been arguing many times with other people about the origins of someone...

Seems pointless to me, its not going to change my identity nor really make me feel any different, genetics are not yet so rooted in our culture as to be of any significance... so ultimately its a novelty Ill entertain for fun, but I dont particularly place any significance on it nor would really care...

I dont believe anyone makes such tests in order to change his identity....its for people that want to know their genetic origins....were their forefathers came from...its exciting...kind of a hobby.

I will have to say, that is pretty interesting... but if it points to the region of Kiev and moves southward... Ill have to commit suicide.

The level of differences between Turks, which I have seen these past two years are incredible... you could hardly believe the people came from the same country.... and yet it was so easy to point them out...

I know people....when I saw them the first time I thought...nothing special about them...all of a sudden they open their mobile phone and start to talk in turkish...people that looked european 100%...blue eyes...white skin...light haircolour...straight hair.....it doesnt happen often...but suh cases are not unique either.
