...Belgium is a giant case of chocolates, France is covered with a blind, reading "Strike!", Italy is a huge playground, at which the players hold a football in front of their loins, Luxemburg is overshadowed by the signature "For Sale", Spain is covered all over with concrete, and all that is left of the Netherlands above the sea level are several minarets. The UK's spot is left absolutely empty.. Romania is a kitsch entertainment park, called "Dracula Land".And Bulgaria is a ground-hole toilet, with neon lights here an there.. ;D bulgarian.ibox.bg/news/id_1869166053

Bulgaria is a "Turkish Toilet" in the Entropa Art Installation in Brussels
Updated on: 13.01.2009, 12:46 Published on: 13.01.2009, 12:35
Author: Diana Stoykova
Font size: a a a An art installation put up in the Justus Lipsius builiding of the EU Council in Brussels in a project of the Czech Presidency, portrays Bulgaria as a ground-hole toilet, or "Turkish toilet", in the words of the artist, BTA reports.
That has angered the Bulgarian official representation to the EU. Entitled "Entropa: Stereotypes are Barriers to be Demolished", the installation will remain in its stand-by mode until Thursday 15 January when it will "start to live" in the full regime. Entropa is the joint work of 27 artists, each one from a different Member State. Each object depicts one Member State using common stereotypes or prejudices.
The Presidency commissioned the artists without any restrictions and they were free to create any object they liked, according to a communication published on the Website of the Czech Presidency.
The project is explained by the author Elena Zhelepova in the booklet, prepared for the exhibition's opening: "Our project is dedicated to fake patriotism. I aim at creating debates and scandal. This is a gesture of punk, deliberately primitive, vulgar and teenager.
For comparison, Belgium is a giant case of chocolates, France is covered with a blind, reading "Strike!", Italy is a huge playground, at which the players hold a football in front of their loins, Luxemburg is overshadowed by the signature "For Sale", Spain is covered all over with concrete, and all that is left of the Netherlands above the sea level are several minarets. The UK's spot is left absolutely empty by the artist Halid Asadi. Romania is a kitsch entertainment park, called "Dracula Land".
Bulgaria's official delegation protests against the art installation, obviously misinterpreting its idea as an insult attempt. Bulgaria's official delegation protests against the art installation, obviously misinterpreting its idea as an insult attempt.versus seeing it as a complement?? sorry but that is not art especially when it demeans the entire country, and that it does

That's of course both to provoke and show something which is a stereotype. No need to protest.. Kitschy entertainment park, called "Dracula Land" is even worse.

news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7827738.stmThere's a photo of Bulgaria's Turkish toilet. Anyway, Rhezus, you're wrong when you say that Romania's depiction as a Dracula theme-park is worse. In what way is it worse? It may be corny and silly, but when people associate Romania with Dracula, it is not seen as something negative. Stereotypes of Romania that are viewed as negative would be streetchildren, thieves, and Gypsies. If the artist would've depicted Romania as one of those three things, we would most likely have reacted in the same way as Bulgaria did.

Well, not that I usually agree with you but this time your post was 100% spot on. Appreciated.

Stereotypes or solid facts? If Romania is like India, then Bulgaria must be like Pakistan of Europe. Romania is poor, but at least in Romania, you would not feel like some Mongols have been to the toilet.

You are quick to spoil the rare good impression you made. Anyway, continue this amazing chat between you and yourself. Just don't start cursing at Anittas or Kibitzer's relatives when trying to create something like a dialogue. That would be really disgusting.

Ruse, seek help. Or ask Canaris for confirmation every time you suspect someone of being me. I don't even understand the context of that post.

It is you who should be searching for help with these nicks, not me. At least try to change a little bit the words order or the commas. It is only you who uses them in such manner.

I knew your reaction already.. You can not take this, right. By the way I've never seen such toilets in Slovenia or Hungary or Croatia or elsewhere in EU. So it's typical Bulgarian or Turkish one. Many have seen such in BG - nothing to be ashamed of. Otherwise take them away and put normal..

We have some of them in Ro. I hate them. They're ugly. They must be old, though.

Ruse, you really are sick, dude. In every alias that I have used, I made it obvious that it was me; and I never denied that it was me, whenever someone made that allegation. Use your brain, dude.
And by the way, I chatted with Vaisva a few days ago. We'll need to talk about that...
