06.May 2008. 20:18 Upon orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian Foreign Ministry has begun work on concrete forms of cooperation in the reconstruction of Christian Orthodox sanctities in Kosovo and Metohija, as part of a UNESCO project. As stressed, Russia would secure adequate funds and engage top experts, in order to complete restoration and reconstruction of Serbian churches and monasteries in Kosmet as soon as possible. The Russian Foreign Ministry reminds that since the end of the war in Kosmet in 1999, over 150 Christian Orthodox churches and monasteries have been destroyed, many of which were on the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage. glassrbije.org/E/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2692&Itemid=26
