Radovan Karadzic, the former Bosnian Serb leader, has asked Russian officials to testify on his behalf at his ongoing trial in the Hague. Karadzic is being tried for war crimes at the International Criminal Tribunal for his alleged role in the Srebrenica massacre and the siege of Sarajevo during the Bosnian war. Karadzic's relatives claim former Russian Prime Minister Evgeny Primakov knows of an agreement with the U.S. that granted the Serb leader immunity if he left politics at the end of the war. Russian officials previously appeared in the same court on behalf of former Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic. source: www.russiatoday.com/news/news/36502

hehe. During his first appearence in court it was smart of him to mention his deal with Holebrooke since the trial wasnt gonna get as much media coverage later in the trial as it did then.

Survey: Serbia war veterans sicker than rest The Associated Press Published: January 29, 2009
BELGRADE, Serbia: A survey has shown that Serbia's war veterans are sicker than the rest of the country's population, with many fighting depression and alcoholism.
The survey was released by the Serbian government on Thursday. It was conducted by social workers and doctors in 2007-2008.
Officials say the results show that 84 percent of veterans from the 1991-1999 Yugoslav wars have health problems, including mental ones.
The survey also shows that 8.8 percent of war veterans suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, while additional 20 percent had suffered from PTSD in the past. Some 54 percent have additional mental problems, most commonly depression and alcoholism.
Social Care Minister Rasim Ljajic says government will set up aid centers for the veterans to address the problems.

I remember hearing about that agreement and as a result of it he actually left politics (both him and Mladic I believe were given this same agreement). I just don't know is it in writing.

lolol..are you kidding me? Agreement or not, there were INTERNATIONAL WARRANTS FOR HIS ARREST sent out by the Hague Tribunal. He was a wanted war criminal. That warrant supercedes any tissue paper agreement he may have signed with an American Rep...now if he happened to be a rep. of the UN..it would be a different matter.
Then, he'd be sharing his cell with lord david owen, unprofor gen Rose, and that french assss moronilon in srebrenica..
