ZAGREB, CROATIA – Croatian President Stjepan Mesic said on Saturday that the president of the Bosnian entity of Republika Srpska, MIlorad Dodik, was an illusionist who does not recognise Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Mesic told reporters Dodik’s threats to have Republika Srpska separated from Bosnia-Herzegovina were dangerous for countries in Bosnia’s neighbourhood and Europe.
- I would like Milorad Dodik to understand this and not to look for culprits outside of his circle, but to start carrying out a policy that would strengthen Bosnia-Herzegovina – Mesic added.
‘The government must intervene in the financial state when the time is right’
Responding to accusations by the Serb member of Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency, Nebojsa Radmanovic, that he was meddling in internal affairs and giving war-mongering statements, President Mesic said all he was doing was advocating Bosnia-Herzegovina’s survival.
- If that is war-mongering policy then I am a war monger – Mesic stressed.
Asked by reporters if he considered the financial situation in Croatia stable and should the government intervene, President Mesic said the government would have to intervene when the time is right.
‘All those who gained through corruption must be found’
Recalling that a year ago, at the opening of the Zagreb Fair, he had warned of a financial crisis in the USA, President Mesic said it was most important for Croatia to maintain an ascending level of the economy, to keep and create new jobs and attract capital with export-focused production.
Asked about the brutal murder of Ivana Hodak, the president said not only the killer had to be found, but also the money that disappeared from Croatia, as well as all those who gained from the war while Croatia’s young men were dying for Croatia’s freedom.
- All of them, as well as those who gained through corruption must be found. We have all the instruments to do so, all we have to do is use them and results will follow – the president said.
