Serbia will not trade Kosovo for EU December 10, 2007 08:40 ET AFP BELGRADE --Serbia is not prepared to trade off Kosovo's independence for any deal with the European Union, Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic was quoted as saying by Tanjug news agency on Monday.
"There will be no trade of Kosovo for Europe, nor will Serbia ever accept it, and nobody's offering it," Djelic told journalists in Belgrade, according to the state run news agency.
"The European Union isn't a country, isn't a member of the United Nations, and nor will it be a part of the process on Kosovo.
"That process belongs to the U.N. Security Council and all member countries of the United Nations, but in no way the European Union."
Serbia and the European Union last month initialed a Stabilization and Association Agreement, which is considered the first step for Western Balkan nations on the path to eventual E.U. membership.

As far as the thread goes.
What I am wondering is why the EU is even involved with the UN and Serbia. Like the article says there not even a country and have no say-so on anything involved with the situation happening in Kosovo, Serbia. These 3rd party groups need to get bent and take care of their own problems rather than involving themselves in Serbias. And like i've mentioned before it is in Serbia's best interest to NOT join the EU.
