Ex U.S. ambassador to UN criticizes U.S. Kosovo policy 1 November 2007 John Bolton is higly critical of Washington's approach to Serbia as a whole and Kosovo in particular.
Bolton, a former U.S. ambassador to the UN, told Voice of America yesterday that he hoped the United States will not recognize a unilateral proclamation of Kosovo independence, but assessed, however, that things seem to be going in that very direction, and voiced fear that this could bring more harm than benefit to the Balkans.
Such a decision, reached under the threat of violence, would actually represent an award for bad behavior, Bolton said.
He added he believed that the two sides should resolve the Kosovo issue at the negotiation table.
"Ever since the disintegration of Yugoslavia, we have been trying to ensure stability in the Balkans, but we have not succeeded in this completely and a number of issues have remained unresolved," Bolton continued.
"However, it seems to me that the last thing we should do is plant a seed of future conflicts yielding to the pressure of this or that side," he assessed.
Bolton said he believed that the State Department had been pushing "an anti-Serb policy for over 15 years now."
"When Yugoslavia was falling apart and when Miloševiæ was pursuing his policy, it was only logical that we opposed such a policy," he pointed out.
"Unfortunately, [our] partial policy continued although there is no logical explanation for it any longer," Bolton concluded.

Bolton was real good on Kosovo before his tenure at the UN and again now since he left.
It just goes to show how hard the inner politics of the US government is against us Serbs.

Why is that? Same thing happened during Bosnia. Some diplomat quit over US signing on to the arms embargo, citing anti Muslim racism then when he was out of a job and no one was hiring him, he showed up supporting Serbs, on tv and papers. How come? What made them change their minds? Curius to know why they do that.

Well Bolton never changed his mind, he just shut his mouth while working as the US Ambassador to the UN.
He was held the pro-Serb, pro-follow-the-law position.

My question is what did Bolton and that other diplomat learn about Serbs that the public is not privy to? What proof do they have that Serbs are 'innocent' of Hague and Int'l Court charges?

You're right Mimi. They can't explain or prove that Serbs are innocent of the Hague charges. Yet, many of their leaders are rotting in prison convicted and condemned for murder rape and ethnic cleansing, and one for commiting genocide, so far. Momcilo Krasnik of Srpska has been sentenced to 27 years, he was picked up in his boxer shorts and was humiliated publicly this way by UN forces. Now, he's crying about having to suffer in 10 by 10 cell, which will be his home for the next 26 years. Well, I say, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Many more are in their 10+ year sentences for war crimes. Nice legacy to leave your children.
