Armenia: We cannot recognize Kosovo before we recognize Nagorno-Karabakh The President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan has declared that "the right of Nagorno Karabakh for self-determination should be recognized."
(KosovoCompromise Staff) Thursday, September 25, 2008 "Our approach is simple. We have a similar problem in the Nagorno Karabakh issue. We cannot recognize Kosovo, Abkhazia and South Ossetia until we recognize the independence of Nagorno Karabakh," Sargsyan said.
"One of the reasons is that today our country is negotiating with Azerbaijan, and Armenia wishes to reach the solution of the issue through peace talks," the President noted.
"If no other means remains, Armenia will recognize the independence of Nagorno Karabakh," he added.
Asked what the limit of concessions is, the red line which Armenia will never cross, President Sargsyan responded that Armenia declared about that red line 14 years ago when it was signing a truce and several times after it.

Hmm wait a second, i thought Kosovo was a unique case and could threfore not set a precedent . LOL!!!
I guess it is as unique as political interest goes. No political interest (for the West) and no uniqueness. Today on the news they said that the US could soon stop being an economic super power, a status it enjoyed since world war 2. Well with that in mind I can see the "Kosovo Independence" dream fading ;D

Political commentators have predicted that the kosovo momentum will slow and 'possibly' shift the otherway. How is region going to improve, when its massively imbued in criminal activity....it will take forever to see positive results, they have no base to start with.
