This show comes across as a bunch of rubbish but since they talk about a Spartan warrior this time, I thought some people would like to see it.
Part 1: (missing)
Part 2:
Part 3:
Part 4:
Part 5:

A spartan would have that gook for breakfast....
not even a close comparison.
Besides, ninja's were for recononssance and assassinations. They were not foot soldiers...

The fighting is off, the Spartan was part of a unit, isolated he was worthless and wasnt really trained in any such capacity. The whole concept of a phallanx is for many to act as one... otherwise its nothing.

^^^^ You are totally wrong.... Spartans were warriors trained in fighting hand to hand combat as well as fighting as part of a unit or Phalanx.
On another note... Spartans were trained as warriors from the age of 7 until they died. I think that they underestimated the Spartan in the video.
Once again on another note.... are you familiar with the Krypteia? They were essentially Spartan ninjas.

The Krypteia were more like secret police, an intelligence service that kept track of the ongoings of the helots, I havent heard of them having had any real ninja like training. You can compare the Krypteia to an early form of the CIA or something perhaps more... fascist...
Yes, they were trained also to fight individually, but if a Spartan was put in that situation... it meant things werent going well. By contrast knights or samurai were trained in that very art: fighting individually and both developed a special style of martial arts to it (it was kind og shown in Kingdom of Heaven, but only vaguely).

^^^^ Dude!!!! THE SPARTANS WERE TRAINED HEAVILY IN THE MARTIAL ART OF PANKRATION!!!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT THEY WERE NOT TRAINED IN FIGHTING INDIVIDUALLY? ?!!!!!! Pankration can probably be very closely compared to Brazilian Jiujitsu. One of the most interesting things about Spartans and their training in Pankration was that their goal was to break their opponents neck which would end their life. They were also very good with forcing their opponents to submit through arm locks and leg locks. Another interesting fact is that the Spartans were banned from participating in the ancient olympics in Pankration because they would cause many deaths of the people they fought.

Pankration fights could be closely compared to the modern mixed martial arts fights you see today on T.V, ONLY PEOPLE DON'T FIGHT TO THE DEATH IN MODERN MIXED MARTIAL ARTS FIGHTS PAL. Ohhhh... I forgot to mention about the Krypteia, that they were as secret police sent out to assassinate and practice their warrior skills on the Helots. Most of their assassinations took place at night and I cannot help comparing them to ninjas. If a member of the Krypteia killed a helot they gained special status as a citizen of Sparta.

I think they always try and make the fights seem closer to attract viewers when in reality, the ninja wouldn't cause any damage to a Spartan at all. The ninja has no armour while the Spartan has that huge shield. I don't care how skilled the ninja is made out to be, he simply would not be able to get past the Spartans armour.
