Are Croats really gonna take this? I know in other Balkan countries the people would take to the streets in uproar if any of this happened.

No need for uproar. People would still go on doing what they do. The law would really be ineffective unless rigorously enforced.

Meh... its not like people give a crap about them.... although I do support them.
I remember in Albania, in various offices people were smoking right under no smockin signs...

I wouldn't make a big deal about cafe's and bars. But allowing smoking in offices and public places generally is a bit too much.

Yeah, people's health is at stake. You can choose to go to a non-smoking or smoking bar, but most times you cannot choose who you work with.

Business' such as cafe's and bars may not take it seriously right away but as soon as customers and employees start filing lawsuits they will enforce the ban themselves. Such as the case in Canada and the US when they banned smoking... For awhile they you could still see people lighting up in the bars and night clubs but that didn't last too long.

Actually in many of the bars I go to with friends people smoke inside quite comfortably. They generally give us a plastic cup with water to put it out and we just sit at the end of the bar near the windows and smoke.

^ Because the bars you go to are shitholes that the police and regulatory bodies ignore. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Seriously, in Toronto there is not a single normal (mainstream) place where you can smoke indoors.

^ It's true. Every single Nightclub I've been to downtown rarely even has patios. Everyone gets out and smokes at their own accord. One club I've been to, Tryst Nightclub, has a patio, and they still discourage it even there.

I hang out at a Cro cafe here in Nyc (Scorpio), they were in the paper last year for having the most smoking violations of any restaurant in the entire city LoL

Well, its obvious the more prominent places wont allow it. Especially in the city, where they are filled to the brink with people all week long. But in Queens its a different story.

It sure is fun. I dont smoke, but I do occassionally go for a cig. For some reason, whenever I get drunk I love smoking a cigarette. Plus, its a good way to get close and talk to a random girl that you find attractive. if she smokes, go up to her outside and ask her for a light, or a cig. Usually smokers stay together outside and talk, even with random strangers so its a good opportunity to get to know the girl and make chit-chat you normally would not have the chance to...
