Unexploded 1999 NATO cluster bombs found in central Serbia
Russian demining experts have discovered five cluster bombs in the civilian part of the Konstantin Veliki Airport of Nis, in central Serbia.
(KosovoCompromise Staff) Tuesday, August 19, 2008 Teams found five cluster bombs left over from the 1999 NATO air strikes at depth ranging from five to 30 centimeters.
The Russian government in early July approved six million dollars for the demining of the Nis airport. A Russian state agency is engaged on the sweeping of the field while the Serbian Demining Center is in charge of supervising the work.
NATO cluster bombs killed or maimed hundreds of civilians in attacks against Serbian localities in 1999, both in Kosovo and in central Serbia.

Why do they need to use cluster bombs on anything let alone civilian areas when they have their "pin point accurate" missiles. Especially when they dont even f**ken blow up. Arent the cluster bombs the toy looking ones that kids go to pick up? Or is that another one?Because i remember Serbian kids dying this way.

There is different kinds of cluster bombs, the ones dropped in Serbia were anti-electrical. They knocked out almost all power in Serbia.

Wernt they using some new Bomb that when exploded threw out a spider web sorrt of thing that would land on the electrical wires and short circuit them ? I remember hearing of them on TV, and they used them because they deliberatly did not want to destroy the power grids or the power infrastructure.

There is different kinds of cluster bombs, the ones dropped in Serbia were anti-electrical. They knocked out almost all power in Serbia. These are not cluster bombs. Yes, yes they are. CBU-94/B (with BLU-114/B) (United States) Type Cluster bomb, multi-purpose. Information on the CBU-94 was first released during the Kosovo/Serbia conflict in 1999. It was developed for the USAF to provide a non-lethal air-launched weapon that could be used to disrupt electrical power lines, electricity substations and power generating plants. .................... Cluster munitions or cluster bombs are air-dropped or ground-launched munitions that eject a number of smaller submunitions: a cluster of bomblets. The most common types are intended to kill enemy personnel and destroy vehicles. Submunition based weapons designed to destroy runways, electric power transmission lines, deliver chemical or biological weapons, or to scatter land mines have also been produced. Some submunition based weapons can disperse non-munition payloads, such as leaflets. Anti-electricalAn anti-electrical weapon, the CBU-94/B, was first used by the U.S. in the Kosovo War in 1999. These consist of a TMD (Tactical Munitions Dispenser) filled with 202 BLU-114/B submunitions. Each submunition contains a small explosive charge that disperses 147 reels of fine conductive fiber, either carbon fiber or aluminum-coated glass fiber. Their purpose is to disrupt and damage electric power transmission systems by producing short circuits in high-voltage power lines and electrical substations. On the first attack, these knocked out 70% of the electrical power supply in Serbia. There are reports that it took 500 people 15 hours to get one transformer yard back on line after being hit with the conductive fibers. I'm sure they used other kinds as well.

^ They used around 20 different types of A/G Bombs. One of the most amazing things is that the A-10's used Depleted Uranium shells in their cannon ammunition.
