Lazarus exhorted us like this: 'Whoever is a Serb, of Serbian blood, Whoever shares with me this heritage, And he comes not to fight at Kosovo, May he never have the progeny His heart desires, neither son nor daughter; Beneath his hand let nothing decent grow- Neither purple grapes nor wholesome wheat; Let him rust away like dripping iron Until his name shall be extinguished!'" www.rastko.org.yu/knjizevnost/usmena/battle_of_kosovo.html

And even in that picture you can see the contribution of Albanians in the allied war against the Ottomans in the Battle of Kosova.

I was trying to find sections of the movie 'Battle of Kosovo' and found bellow one which makes a comparison between 300 movie and Battle of Kosovo (nice one as there are many parallels, Turks=Persians here and Serbs=Spartans who willingly will sacrifice their lives for freedom and of course Milosh = Leonidas). I have seen many comparisons made and only this one does the memory of immortal Sparta any justice from the ones I have seen.

The eagle was byzantine eagle and red background represents war so this was one of the byzantine war flags. In the beginning the eagle had no crown and her mouth, wings and claws were open, showing the eagle ready to attack. The eagle looked like that of today's Albanian flag. The banner with a porphyr red background and golden eagle was the war flag of the Empire, whereas the yellow-black was the Imperial flag used in peacetime. www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/gr_byz.html#eag-------- He raised his standard (most likely based on the Byzantine war flag, it later became the Albanian flag) above the castle and reportedly pronounced: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skanderbeg#Freedom_fighting_in_Albania
