so you can stop the croat bashing now. we are not perfect, but you serbs are miles from perfect. I wasn't Croat bashing. Just mentioned that I heard Darijo Srna comes from a WW2 Ustasha family.

dude, supposedly most muslims from BiH had grandparents that were ustase or ss handzar, so whats the point of saying that? most muslims of BiH would like to forget this ever happened, so there's no special bond between us in that aspect. maybe back in world war 2, there was some feeling of croat patriotism among the muslims, but that died very quickly after the partisans won the war, and all the muslims defected from the losing side to the winning side (the partisans). after a couple decades of communism rule, tito declared the muslims a separate ethnic group, which the muslims embraced. the muslims became die-hard tito fans. now they all talk about how wonderful it was in yugoslavia under tito. now with the war in bih during the 90's where croats and muslims were fighting each other, do you really think croats would be thinking about how their (the muslims) grandparents were ustase once upon a time? no, ofcourse not, it was wartime, and both sides were hostile towards each other. but with that being said, its still pretty silly of them for doing that to srna, but nothing we have done bad to the muslims compare with what your peoples (the serbs) have done to them ie. srebrenica massacre . so you can stop the croat bashing now. we are not perfect, but you serbs are miles from perfect. LMAO gotta love Crologic, it's almost as fun as Serblogic. Say what you will, but I think Croats try to adopt Muslims as their own more than Serbs.

Oh I've noticed it don't worry... but as Serbs they try that card when it suits them. For both to have kind of claims to Bosnia and undermine our identity, but I also fully understand why they do it as for ww2, so they could have someone with whom to share the guilt. They can put all the guilt they want on some handzar-like links the fact that such an unit is not mentioned in any serb document as having perpetrated big massacres says a lot about it. As a matter of fact you hear people speaking about Handzar only after the 90's war. Yet everyone can name ustasha or chetnik massacres, still big scale massacres by Bosniaks on civilians, are not known to me. And I really mean it. The fact it was the Handzar that rebelled in France says a lot. The fact our ulama issued fatwas against ustashas says more than anything else. It was the XVI Muslim brigade of Partisans that liberated Sarajevo and Tuzla among other cities. There's that book by George Lepre that deals extensively with Handzar in ww2... the division never played any big part in our history, even if one could feel pride for their actions in France, the very fact they fought under the axis, even if I as others understand the reasons, can't commemorate them for that fact only as I do respect Partisans. The truth is we always did what offered the best to Bosniaks and Bosnia as a whole and IMHO history has showed we did it harming the less we could others.

Why wouldn't we, Bosnia was a catholic country before the Ottomans invaded, Ottomans brought the vlahs to Bosnia during their rule, same vlahs that during the 19th century start calling themselves "Serbs".
but I also fully understand why they do it as for ww2, so they could have someone with whom to share the guilt.
Fazlinho,
The most notorious division of the Ustase was Crna Legija of which 90% were of Islamic faith. You can say what ever you want but the people who gained the most from Ustasa in Bosnia were the Bosniaks, you became the majority in Bosnia after WW2 and you are to this very day.
Ask yourself this question, what would have happened to Bosniaks/Bos Muslims if Pavelic hadn't been there to protect you, would the Nazis have killed you because according to them you were muslims and "sub human" or would the cetniks make sure there wasn't a single muslim in Bosnia. You had so many enemies during WW2 but only one friend, the Croatian people, when will you Bosniaks understand this?

faz, zgembo and ostali...there was always at least one in every family...and one partisan...and one fence sitter..usually the latter...etc etc etc...that's our beatiful history!
maksimir, sluzim sa tobom, ali nemoj zabaraviti da smo mi branili srbi u hrvatskoj u isto vrijeme; ne da su samo turci pozvali. Sam smo krivi za to!

You are right, so was Croatia, I think we might lay some clays on Croatia now, as Italy too btw. As Spain and france also...wow man, Bosnia is going to be a blast in some years I can't seriously believe you can believe this crap, I guess the brigade El mudzahedin was composed of die hard ustashas too. Again are you kidding me or what? Bosniaks in 1948 - undecided 788,403 (30.7%) 1953 - undecided 891,800 (31.3%) 1961 - Muslims by nationality 842,248 (25.7%)1971 - Muslims 1,482,430 (39.6%) So after ww2 our numbers even dropped, only after 1961, did we heavily increase. I guess it had to be magic Pavelic's hand. The nazis ironically were the only ones who give us a more or less full Bosniak unit. I'm not denying ustashas treated us better than chetniks, but that doesn't mean anything. Germans treated us better than Ustashas, yet you don't see us simpatyzing with them. Yeah sure, we so felt like it in ww2 The only friends we had were the partisans and in that spirit, of the anti-fascist fight from 1942-1945, do we remember them ; it's not a coincidence if the main street in sarajevo remained named after Tito after so many years.

lolol only reason Pavelic wanted to make Muslims into Croats is so Croats wouldnt be a minority in their own country.
I dunno about 90% but Crna Legija was known to have muslims in it.

I don't understand how this turned into a hate-oriented thread. How does it feel to have a person of Bosnian Muslim origin captain the Croatian national team ? But this is my first clue. The very first post in the thread (After the main one of course) is caused to provoke. If this doesn't straighten out, I'll have to edit half this thread, and delete the other half. If its a story of struggle of his father that you want to highlight, then create another thread. Either way, congrats to Darijo Srna. Indeed a fine player he is. Yeah, delete it. God forbid we have a discussion take place in the Croatia forum. Keep it nice and dead I agree 110%%%

And I agree with you, as I said what makes me laugh are their exaggerations. 90% ? rofl. Even chetniks had muslims at one point, but that doesn't mean much.
