I have a question - what exactly is called "Prespa"? I thought it's the region of Resen, but at some places I read, that Resen is not in Prespa. And Rexy says he's from Prespa, maybe he could tell?

Prespa would consist of the towns that are along the Prespa lake ,and in all 3 countries Albania,Greece and Macedonia ..
Resen is the biggest city in the Prespa region ....and it the communal city to the Prespa villages
Prespa was once under Ohrid ....
it use to be Manastir/Bitola ....
and before that it was Korca in Albania
imo .... I would say it is considered part of Prespa ...but not 100 % sure ...its only 5-10 minutes away from the lake ...

Prespa in albanian = Without waiting
This could be a connection to the legend, someone who gave their life to save the village, spur of the moment, without wait, the peoples' lives were that precious?
I dont know

'Prespa in Bulgarian means "snow-drift".'
Probably thats correct since the pelister mountian dominate one side and the Galicica the other and during winter excess snow flows into the lake via underground streams. The albanian explanation though plausible does not work due to the majority of village toponyms being slavic and most of the migarotry Albanian populations came there about two hundred years ago from either the Devoll or Kolonje regions of Albania.
P.S: per shqiptareve mos me mer me ligesi, ama ato qe jane pe fshatrat te Prespes jane pe fshatrat te Shqiperise te sotcme.
