My opinion of the Balkans:
Trieste, Italy to Constanta, Romania along the 3 rivers, from Constanta down to the Bosphurus, then from there to the tip of Peloppenese, from there back up through Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia, and back to Trieste.
There are your Balkans.
Italy(just Trieste ), Slovenia, Romania(Constanta, Dobruja), and Turkey(E. Thrace) have small portions in "the Balkans".
Most of Serbia is in the Balkans. most of Vojvodina isnt, maybe all, I need to look at a map.
Half or maybe a little more than half of Croatia is Balkan, again I need to look at map. Dalmatia definitely is, Slavonia probably not.
Albania, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Srpska, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, and Montenegro are all 100% Balkans.
This is how we were taught the Balkan Peninsula in America.

mainland Greece is certainly on the Balkan Peninsula, I shouldnt of said 100% though, a lot of the islands are pretty far away from the peninsula.

Almost half of the people voted for him. How come you have managed to meet people only from the other half so far?

Maybe his supporters are quiet about it. Even for these elections I have family members telling me that everyone they know voted Nikolic, and even they don't know any Tadic supporters (Belgrade again). ps. these elections in specific were very fishy.

Almost half of the people voted for him. How come you have managed to meet people only from the other half so far? You got it wrong. At presidential elections there was ~40% of total Serbian population who voted, in other words ~20% voted for Tadic

In a way, because no matter the number of voters we have law in Serbia that even if 1 person goes out on voting and vote for some candidate that candidate will win the elections, even though of course its not the will of majority of Serbian citizens No

Not really. When you have two equally bad candidates you just don't vote. They are not OK with the choice, but they could do nothing really

(pretty easy tought...) when milosevic was president karadzic and mladic on their power chair... what you al where screaming??? what do you today STIL SCREAM FOR>>> ? just do not look further your own serbian admins here screemed about heroic mladic... im not sure in which hole you lived but a president does not have anypower himself... it is GIVED BY THE PEOPLE a president further can not act all on himself... withhout his premiers and without support OF THE PEOPLE in second degree and in first degree SUPPORT of the PARTY and other high powerty person... so how ever you look at the things... everything done by serbian people is to blame to them and not a president... or some other guy... now than maybe to write some fairytale candidate and then vote for them... or pray for some alien candidate.... to come and conquer serbia... and than lead.. i mean what kind of bull is this? it al comes to your people... how shity it sounds... rome isnt builded by 1 person... nor serbia fucked....

In elections 2004 Serbian parliament changed the voting rules. Before that you needed at least 50% of population to vote for the elections to be regular. That was choice of majority, but in year 2004 because of 2 times failed elections(less then 50% came out to vote) parliament decided to make this stupid law when even with 1 vote someone can win.

Well, most Serbs don't like "in the land of blind one-eyed person is king" scenario, so that's why it failed twice. I guess that's where Serbs and Albanians differ, we don't like to be guided by blind or semi-blind leader and his minions.
