Have you guys come across this piece of news? Their new publication (by their academy of sciences) has stirred a lot of anger amongst Albanians. It claims that Albanians are newcomers to Macedonia, they moved into western macedonia via violent means thus forcing the macedonians away from there, and that our presence in their country was no more than 20000 by the beginning of 20th century. And they also claim that the meaning of our name - Shqiptar - means 'mountain people'. Our historians and albanian politicians in macedonia are asking the maco gov to fix this, and threatening that it might have disastreous consequences for the relations between these two nations if these claims are not changed. |

Hey, i mentioned it many times in this forum. The skopians are sick ppl. You give an inch....they take a mile.
They are a nation in the making and they are coming up with all kinds of bullchit to justify their existance.
They need to be wiped off the map. Finish what you started in tetovo before they start claiming albanian lands as their own.

There's already tension within that country, and this latest move is really taking them in the wrong direction. The leader of the albanian democratic party of macedonia send them a message today: you play with fire, you will get burnt. Pretty clear!

I would like Albanians and Macedonians to be friend. We live in the same country and we should look towards the future for a more peaceful and prosperous Macedonia -- for Albanians and Macedonians alike. But this may be a fantasy on my part. These are sick people with an inferiority complex that are willing to throw out good relationships with their own minority group.
Ali Ahmeti should grow a set of balls and refuse to partake in parliament for such provocative comments. Shit, Ahmeti should of done so after the Football incident in Shkup.
IMO, Albanians in Macedonia should do everything they can to destabilize this country. These Slavs do not give a s**t about us.

These fvckers have managed to piss off all of their neighbours. I'm curious how their logics work. It seems they want to pursue total isolation, as if Greece wasn't enough. They're slowly getting what they're asking for.

I say invade them, then split the country in 3 parts, we keep Tetova and Shkup and the rest divided in half to Greece and Bulgaria.

When I was in Macedonia in the early 1990's (Tetovo), I made a friend. Tikja and I got along really great, and she even gave me a tour of Tetovo. I mingled with the Albanians of Tetovo, and had no problems with them, even with the knowledge of my background.
I just hope to God that the Macedonians in Macedonia do not screw things up in Tetovo. Both the Macedonians and the Albanians in Macedonia should play nice, get along and grow together.

Basil, conspiracy theoriesare more entertaining and easier to explain events instead of assessing them properly, right?
Macedonia isn't being helped by the U.S. mate. In this new encyclopedia, they claimed that S.A.S. (british) and U.S. soldiers trained the NLA (the KLA of macedonia) to fight against macedonian security forces.
And during the NLA vs. Maco conflict in 2001, we reached almost all of our military objectives. We were something like 10 miles away from Skopje and their national airport, if I recall correctly. Moreover, their offensives in our territories proved to be inneffective. And the U.S./NATO asked the Albanians to alter their true objectives, and give another try to coexistence within the country. So the U.S. wasn't on our side neither.
The U.S. was on our side in Kosovo, but only after the armed conflict had already started and the direction of progress was obvious to everyone (as it was the same serbian leaders that went too far in Bosnia, as well as rejecting any sort of advice from NATO before things got out of hand). And they simply didn't want things to repeat, especially after being found "guilty" of inaction in Rwanda's and Bosnia's massacres.
So stop the b.s. conspiracy theories.

The ONLY reason US stoped the war between FYROMians and Albanians in FYROM was for protecting their plans in the area.. and their plans are.... 2 small puppet states like Kossovo and FYROM threating eachother... a huge American military base between them to "gurantee" the peace..!
The last thing they would like to see is.. a war there... Kossovars joing Albania and FYROM collapsing and unite with Bulgaria and Serbia.
You have no idea what Americans want and what they dont want in Balkans eh?... omg...

america doesnt need fyrom...they can easily have albania as a protectorate state if they wanted to. They dont have the power anymore to do proxy wars and such. Just the other day they pulled out on the missle shield in poland and czeck republic. The US is in a decline and its kind of scary actually. I always hated the way US foreign policy was conducted..but on the other hand what are the alternatives ? Russia ?! Hell no ! China ?! no way ! ...both those countries are way worse than the US. Both have been known to annihalte their own on a drop of a dime.
In any case...fyrom is gambling and its time we activate our foreign policy against them. We have to look after our interests in the region. The turks would of never let this happen ( ie kurdistan ), i cant believe us greeks are.
We should align ourselves with the albanians and help them in every way. Instead of just looking on as a bystander.
