Albania expects the number of Macedonian tourists will outstrip 300,000. Tourist agencies from Skopje confirm these estimations and inform that the number of reservations for Albanian destinations is increasing. The most popular Albanian destinations are Saranda, Durres and Valona. The interest of the Macedonians for holidays in Albania has definitely jumped, partly owing to advertising campaign that can be seen on Macedonian TV. macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/7003/2/

I really hope Albania recognizes the name Macedonia. I think perhaps it doesnt because Albanian parties in Macedonia may not want it to (keep the border question open). But I dont think there will be any such changes. We are getting closer and closer.

Vlora is flooded with Slavs during the summer. I get the feeling the Slavs know of better sites then us Iliridans lol.

The one thing I noticed about Macedonians... is that they really really dislike Albanians. Except for a few I have run across, the rest really really dislike Albanians. I mean seriously.

You want people with fat wallets to visit it you....Whatever turns you on.... In absence of fat walletted tourists we'll take anything at this point. You can't discount 300,000 tourists no matter how poor they are as long as they're not Kurds/Pakis trying to use Vlore as a springboard for the EU. If they spend $100/person that's $30 million.

We give you 30 million every month in many ways... Do you want to double it so as not to let them touch the water? ;D ;D

Let's get 300 Greek tourists to Albania first and then we might start talking. I for one welcome the Macedonian tourists to Albania. I'm all for fostering good relationships with neighbors.

That is not true... they like you or they wouldn't be there. Now start a petition to recognize them... they deserve it.

That is not true... they like you or they wouldn't be there. Now start a petition to recognize them... they deserve it. The Macedonians and Serbs have a real dislike for their respective Albanian populations but seem to be pretty neutral when it comes to the Albanians in Albania. ^ They need to treat the Albs there better first, than we'll welcome them. Their visiting Albania will at least change their perceptions of the Albanians in general. They came in large numbers last year and even larger this year so that's a step in the right direction.

Yeah, things are getting better, I agree. And this is everywhere in the Balkans for Albos. (well, except Presheva region I should say)

This is so old news...te ne ne Golem kane kohe qe vijne...qe ne 2003...filluan pak nga pak e ne 2006 me shumice....bile ca kane blere shtepi ne riviere...e shume po mesojne shqip...ishte nje artikull mbi kete...nga 2006, po s'po e gjej dot
And Albania already recognizes Macedonia as by this name...it was among the first to do so

i spent quite a bit of time in Vlora last summer, it was flooded with macs, 1 every third car had macedonian licence plates,
ever since the friction between greece and macs intensified they seem to gravitate our way, tourism in greece is becoming very expensive though, you do get better value but damn what's up with the prices going up like mad in greece?
in albania, thankfully, the prices are quite low(for people coming from abroad that is), but it will not remain like that for much longer i reckon.

300,000? I assume most of them will be Albanian ... but Slavs are coming in greater numbers as well. Last summer I too recalled alot of Macedonians in Saranda and Vlore. I trully dislike them, but tourism is tourism.
