Nice...right across from Corfu. Watch out for developers...they have a habit of ruining nice virgin beaches into cement blocks. They done a number over here at a couple of nice sites that used to be pure sand and sea.
Anyway, is the rest of the albanian coast the same ?

With these areas we will be lucky if the politicians dont take it for themselves.... Local development still predominates, but it is highly unstable and weak. Albanians and Kosovar Albanians can very well handle the bad service and cheap environment... so long as the cooking is good. But French, German and English people enjoy certain "standards" (I personally am happy with just a beach, a small room with a bed and some home cooking).
Kakome will probably be that for the westerns since it will soon be turned into just that for the Europeans.
But truth be told, I dont care for "fancy chit". The local is 100x better... so long as it can provide this:

Many beaches in Albania are yet to be discovered since they are hard to reach without a motoskaf(boat). So you can get lucky and find beaches completely empty here and there:

A nuk ka qene Kakomeja prone e fshatareve te Nivices dhe sherri mes ketyre te fundit dhe Nanos? Shteti pra ja paska konfiskuar token?
The south is, usualy rocky & crystal clear water. The northern coast is sandy, with long beaches, like that of Velipoje (8 km) or Divjake (5km).

nice...i have visited Epirus and i must say the beaches are breathtaking. I would like to travel further north Epirus all the way albania if I ever had the time. Maybe when they fix the new road....I just hope the new road wiill not ruin the natural beautey of the area.
I heard croatia has some really nice areas too...too bad italy completely polluted their own waters in the adriatic

Kryekomunitari i Nivices doli kunder Bollanon, tha vet qe ceshtja e Nivices eshte ceshtje kombetare. Por per fshataret, shume jetojn ne Greqi sot dhe (besoj) kan mar letra minoritare...
Historikisht, Nivica ka qen gjithmon Shqiptarfolje por ishte lidhur me Himaren dhe te gjith bregdetin.

Lexova pak per historine e nivicioteve ne nje thread te vjeter te Illyria forums. p100.ezboard.com/fbalkansfrm114.showMessageRange?topicID=488.topic&start=201&stop=217Interesant tregimi per luften mes Ali Pashait dhe nivicioteve. Gjenerali i Ali Pashait, nje Jusufi (me kombesi arap) udheton me nje flote dhe zbret ne Breg. Disa fshatra te Bregut ishin me tepelenasin, keshtu qe nuk beren ze. Niviciotet (se bashku me shovasiotet) nga ana tjeter anonin me Mustafa pashen e Delvines, armiku i Aliut. Nisi lufta, dhe Jusufi s'mundi t'i nenshtronte niviciotet. Nje prej luftetareve, kur i mbaruan fysheket, mori sumbullat e jelekut ne vend, si projektila. Disa dite rresht, arapi s'beri gje perpos duke humbur kohe, gjak dhe mund. Ne fund, nje Vranua i rrefen nje shteg te veshtire perreth maleve te Qafe Lukoves, me 1798, me 25 dhjetor, ushtaret e arapit u bien nivicioteve nga shpina, duke i marre ne befasi dhe duke i shpartalluar teresisht. Pas kesaj, Nivica humbi rolin si fshati kryesor i Bregut, vendin ja zuri Himara. Eshte interesant, ndonese kjo ishte lufte e brendshme mes vellezerve shqiptare (me perjashtim te Jusufit, komandantit te Aliut), ngjason mjaft me luften e Termopileve (qendresa e pamposhtur, tradhtia, etj). Historia jone eshte dicka mjaft interesante ... plot ngjarjesh, lufterash, intrigash, historia suedeze zbehet ne krahasim. Ate cfare s'e beri Aliu (centralizimin e plote) po e ben shteti tani. PS The time of Ali was truly a dynamic era, with internal struggles, intrigues, rich landlords, brigands, etc. Great stuff for someone who wishes to write a superb novel, not like Ben Blushi's "Ishulli".

well Ali was a very cunning and caniving individual, he had no notion of the Besa, that's largely what made him such a prominent of the Janina Pashallek, after all he was a thief and a Kacak in his former occupation, i have mixed feelings about him, he definitely did not fight for an albanian counciousness nor did he ever give a sheet about anyone other than himself, he played the english, french and ottomans amongst each other and never really conformed to a definite cause, he was an ambitious man driven by greed, this is shown in the alliance he forged with Filiki Eteria as a last ditch effort to defy the ottomans, i resent him most of all for betraying the souliotes when he agreed to safe passage to corfu and went back on his word and slaughtered them...although later on he did pacify with them and fought alongside, it just goes to show he had no albanian agenda, the wars in himara, gjirokaster and berat are other examples of his ruthlessness.

www.balkaninsight.com/en/main/news/20846/#add_commentGreek Sun Melts Macedonian Patriotism Skopje | 07 July 2009 | Many Macedonians prefer Greece’s Halkidiki peninsula Despite the political turmoil between Athens and Skopje over the use of Macedonia’s formal name, Macedonians have returned to the beaches of northern Greece, local tourist agencies and Macedonia’s Tourist Bureau say. The low prices and the accessibility of the sunny Greek riviera have softened Macedonian patriotism, local media say. Travel agents are already fully booked for tours to Greece and are making efforts to secure additional places. “Last year there was a boycott of Greece, but this year, interest has increased dramatically”, Aleksandar Conevski, the vice chairman of the Tourist Bureau told local daily Vreme on Monday. Many families have been attracted by the low prices, which he said played a key role in times of global economic downturn. “As angry as I am with Greek politicians, my wife and I decided to go to Greece anyway. It will take us only three hours by car and the prices are very low” Stojmir from the Macedonian town of Bitola told the same newspaper. The same cannot be said of Greek tourists to Macedonia, however. Tour operators report that Greeks have stopped visiting Macedonia’s Ohrid Lake, following incidents earlier this year when Greek buses were sprayed with nationalistic graffiti. This event coupled with the at times angry rhetoric coming from both capitals led both Athens and Skopje to issue travel warnings for their citizens. For landlocked Macedonia, Greece has been a traditional tourist destination offering the quickest way to enjoy the Mediterranean coast. But last year many decided not to go following the Greek government’s blocking of Macedonia’s NATO accession. Athens claims that the name Macedonia implies territorial claims over its own eponymous northern province. “If the ‘name’ issue is solved, there will be even greater interest in Greece”, officials from Macedonia’s Putnik Alta Tours, tourist agency say. (Reporting by Sinisa-Jakov Marusic) lol lol lol ..here they are again... lol lol Finally.. "Macedonians" decided to discover real Macedonia I wonder where they have booked? In "Macedonian Palace" Hotel in Thessaloniki... or in "Macedonian Sun" Hotel in Halkidiki? lol lol lol

"Real Macedonia", yet this region of Greece wasn't officially called Macedonia until only a decade ago..
"Macedonian palace" "Macedonian sun"? These must be new creations to try and reinforce this fake Macedonian-greek identity.
