Looted Albanian sculpture returns homeA marble sculpture stolen in Albania 18 years ago and taken to Italy has been returned to the country. The bust of Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine, was snatched from Albania's Butrinti Archaeological museum and recovered by Italian police from a private home in 2004. Albanian Culture Minister Ardjan Turku said Thursday that the 30-centimeter (12-inch) bust is more than 2,000 years old. It was discovered during an excavation in Albania in 1932. Many antiquities were stolen from Albanian archaeological sites following the fall of Communism in 1990.

I dont see what this has to do with you or your nation. It belongs to the heritage of Albania, be it ancient Greek, Roman, Venetian, Ottoman Turkish.

The sculpture was made by Greek people, it is Greek but it belongs to Butrint. Since Butrint is Albanian it belongs to Albania, but to say
is consciously impudent...no Greek claims this marble but please...its an evidence for Greek presence in Albania...and...its no surprise that it has very well something to do with our nation because we happen to be Greeks.

How is that evidence? Does the sculpture have Greek embedded in his forehead??

The sculpting was made long before the national era and therefore to nationalize it would be a mistake. Im goin by how the EU would classify this. Furthermore, amount of relation between you and that sculpture is questionable... ever heard of the Fallmayer theory?

lol we are the successors of the ancient Greeks, the only successors. We are the only ones who speak Greek, we are the only ones that look after the ancient Greek heritage considering it to be our own. We are the only ones in the word who write in Greek letters...which people is called Ελληνες today...which does define itself as such?
And all these commonnesses are no chance and also not artificial. Fallmeier can suc.k my dick...

And yes...we are also ancestors of the ancient Greeks...in direct line. Not 100% but most than everyone else in the world. The Greek that made this marble was my ancestor. But I give it to you...it shall enlighten your people...perhaps you should go and see it as well....

If you look around through The Butrint Foundation website (Butrint.org, from a British archeological group funded by two noblemen) you can look around until you find a website that lists the lost/stolen stuff. It showed this head. It isnt anything all too special, but important nonetheless... PS: I love this picture: www.butrint.org/images/home/home_09.jpgAn old local.

Albanians are the most beautiful, tall, blond, handsome, smart, polite, honest, developed people of the world!! Ok? And Duke John, I see Albos everyday, even in my neighbor, I had albanians classmates, I know what Albanians are, and how they look like...
