www.glassrbije.org/E/A memorial plate to Mileva Maric Einstein uveiled in Zurich June 14, 2009 Serbian Diaspora Minister Srdjan Sreckovic has unveiled at cemetery Nordheim in Zurich a memorial plate to Mileva Maric Einstein, a Serbian scientist who contributed to the world success of her husband, Nobel-prize winner Albert Einstein. Before this commemoration, a liturgy in her honour was served in the Orthodox church of the Holy Trinity in Zurich. This is a big day for our diaspora, but also for the state of Serbia and all the Serbs, the minister said, having unveiled the memorial plate. This has been the first time an official homage has been paid to Mileva Maric Einstein, who died more than 60 years ago. Mileva Maric contributed significantly to revolutionary theory of physics, which gave birth to the quantum theory, he emphasized, and therefore her name has been included as one of the 100 most famous women scientists in all the world encyclopaedias.
