I don't see any big things happening when the only ex-yu state with a city over a million people is Serbia.

Actually during the Ottoman heights, the Ottomans were the most advanced Empire in the world. Only after the 1800's did they lag behind, and the European Renesanace began. Lets also not forget the Renessance began from the Arabs in Spain, the Europeans began translating Arabic books into their native languages. Comparing Ottomans to colonialism is not the same. The biggest colonizers of the world are England, France, and Portugual aka India, Algeria, and Brazil. Ottomans prevented Balkan countries from. Having a renaissance, the only ethnicities which did experience a renaissance, were those who had significant populations within the austro-hungarian empire and republic of Venice IE: Serbs Croats and Romanians

hmmmmm
the enemy always was the west.
Today the demonization process against both Serbia/Russia and Turkey is using the same automationismsm, the same terminology and basically the same good ol narration.
Compare Nis with Novi Sad and Sofija.
Novi Sad were under Austrian/Hungarian-Serbian influence , while Nis under Turkish-Serbian influence , and Sofija under Turkish-Russian-Bulgarian influence.
Is Sofija 2,3,4,10 times "better" than Novi Sad? or Nis? Is Novi Sad 10 times better than Nis???
I don't think so. Those 3 cities are REMARKABLY similar .... SLAVIC 100%.

Yes they are, Sofia and Nis are similar to Novi Sad because after the ottomans left, most of the islamic architecture was destroyed to make way for neo-classical architecture similar to central europe

I'll tell you my thoughts . Imagine tomorrow ALL ORTHODOX and MUSLIM Slavs go out in the streets and start demanding that they become CATHOLIC. (including protestant Czechs). WILL THE WEST ALLOW THAT??? AND AGREE??? NO !!!!!! They have no problem Catholicizing the Philipines and Africa, BUT EASTERN SLAVS NO!!!! WHY? ? Because they NEED this pretension, this excuse to KILL more Slavs. And eventually ALL of them. They need the western slavs as cannon fodder and the eastern slavs hostile and "independent". IMHO that's the story.

Otherwise all of those countries would be more sophisticated. The Renaissance happened just in important central European and western European countries. East/Southeast Europe was avoided, maybe only Slovenians had it but I doubt that too.

Check the population census once again. Most of the citizens of Ragusa were Morlachs.
