Is Olympos Karpathos a Slav settlement? Carpathian mountains?

Is Olympos Karpathos a Slav settlement? Carpathian mountains? are you asking seriously? Btw, Karpathos is the island and Olympos is a mountainous village on it... Had anyone asked your envious opinion?

Croatia is beautiful, too. Personally I prefer Greece though. Also Croatia does not have the landscape- variety of Greece. All of Croatia can be compared to the Greek Ionian coast only...but the Aegean is a totally different factor which can not be compared to anything Croatian but which we do have additionally to the Ionian landscapes. Also...Croatia does not have the mountainous landscapes of Greece...Epirus...western Macedonia.
Then again Croatian cities are more beautiful than Greek ones....due to the Habsburg rule. But we are talking about landscapes here..
I think Greece is the (clearly) most beautiful country in the Balkans. It does for its small space hold an astonishing variety. Also Greece has in store several highlights...both in the field of landscapes and archaeological sites....highlights means you can see things in Greece which you wont see anywhere else in better shape. Greece is simply the crown jewel of the Balkans.

u dont seem to be bothered to stick ur nose in every single topic in our forum... should I not be able to do so here as well?
Envious? Lol, at the beaches you get charged for for entering today? The ones dominated by the outside Europeans? Im not envious... I would be if I didnt have the money to do it, but my family does and can. How many Greeks can easily afford vacations within Greece without having to scrounge a bank?
Either way, after having traveled Croatia, I have to say, its islands and nature (along with architecture) is on the whole more pleasing. Much more "European". It was a response to your claim "most beautiful country in the world"... rather egregious if I may say, and pompous.

Amazing landscapes, amazing variety (check only Peloponnesos for example illyria.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=hellasgreece&thread=28670&page=1 , places combined with the well known history, great regional architecture, etc etc I would like to visit Croatia, but I think that with one time I would see most of the interesting places and stuff it has. In Greece I'm not sure if your whole life's summers are enough to visit any beauty there is here, from the mountainous Epiros with the green beaches to the palm forest beach in south Crete. Think only about Peloponnisos, except the landscape-beauties(a small taste of it posted in the link above) you can visit Mycenes, Sparta, Mystra, Monemvasia, Corinth, Epidavros, Olympia, Nafplion, Messini, Koroni in distances less than 2.5 hours each from its center in Tripolis.... and in 2 hours you are in Athens and in other 2 hours north you are in Delphous....

from the pictures Ive seen of Croatia,I realise now from seeing these shots here that Greece does have at least some of Croatia's landscape.
Dont know about architectural beauty though, but yeah Greece has more ancient sites and historial building than Croatia. So I guess Greece has more intrestingness than Croatia because of that.
But it's good to know that Greece has a lot of breath taking natural beauty and landscape diversity.I see the Mediterranean,I see the European forest,south-southeast Asian jungle, dry grassland.....very good.

there are so many beautiful natural open spaces that are suitable for photo shoots and film shoots.Greece should be very proud about that.

Some Greek captain gave my father some ouzo named "Arvanitis" or something as a gift. I drank some of it and learned why I should fear your gifts... Yugoslav rakia is better.

Μaybe you mean ouzo Plomariou established by Isidoros Arvanitis(in 1894 Lesvos), and its one of the best, and the one I'm tasting as I'm typing right now... www.ouzoplomari.gr/site_en/index.phpOuzo is a tricky drink. You can't wait that your brain will dance around you head from this tasty innocent drink... If rakia is similar with Cretan raki, which is almost the same with the mainland Greece's tsipouro then thanks but i won't take...

Yea, thats the one. I still the bottle... not a part of my culture I guess... the liquorish taste was horrendous and someone told me ur supposed to add water to it like Turkish Rakia (also horrible).
The raki Im talking about is called in Albanian "Raki Rushi" (grape raki) and it doesnt have that strong liquorish taste to it. It tastes just like the Italian Grappa.
