all kind of strange faces. Now I know where all that nongreek look comes from...try your best. What ethnicity would you particularly attach them to... + guess their geographic origins within Greece/Turkey...you know my roots.

The first pic looks very much like an uncle of mine. He even has the exact same hair style and he has the type of hair that will never fall off his head it seems. My uncle looks bigger though and he has softer features, this is probably because this guy had poorer nutrition and that he probably had a rougher life. Man on the 5th picture to me for some reason reminds me of Ataturk. Only the woman on picture 5 and the man on picture nr 6 look Greek to me. I don't know anything about your roots so this is all I have to say.

Hm hardly any comments.. Well Oden, are you albanian? First of all they are all from Epirus. I agree with you that the last one is Greek looking. He is the only one in my opinion. The last three pictures show men whose last names a great grandmother of mine carried (same fara). Their names are Souliote...I lately found out that I have roots from Souli, too. The first one is a brother of my grandfather...the second one who looks like a baboon ;D is a great grandfather of mine. You are right about the bad nutrition....bad nutrition...a lot of alcohol...and a lot of domestic violence...thats how every day life was back then...

I'm from Kosova though not anywhere near Epirus. But only the three last ones are Souliot? What about the guy that looks like my uncle? Nr 1 + the man and the woman on nr 5 looks kinda weird I don't really know where to place them as they don't give any particular vibe. I'd put nr 1 as Albanian because of the similarity to my uncle Nr 4 looks very Albanian imo, even his style is very usual for the older generations in Albania. Nr 6 looks Greek but you could see the same face in southern Albania not very much though I think. If I had a picture of my uncle I would have posted it the similarity to the man on picture nr 1 is to me at least very clear. Knowing that you have roots from Souli how does that make you feel? If I had a picture of my uncle I would have posted it the similarity is amazing.

Nr.1-3 are from the northern coastal regions of Preveza (fanari). We had Chams there till 1945 and arvanitika was and is still spoken among the older people. Our region is full of such faces...someone who will visit our places and pay attention to it will notice it immediately. We have many dinarics, red heads, pale blue eyes, light skin etc. We have very greek looking people, too though. Its mixed, just the ratio of such balkanian looking people is much higher than elsewhere in Greece...I would say.
I like the idea of having roots from Souli of course....its an honour. I also like that my Epirote relatives do not look like the average Epirote...who looks like s.hit usually...small and fat. We are all tall and slim...thats how a human being should be. ;D

And it's nice that you feel good about your roots. I have seen that people with mixed roots often pick one side and grow hatred for the other side. Both my father's and my mother's family are tall, they differ in body build though. My father's family is mostly tall while also quite big bodied, heavy and muscular. My mother's family is mostly tall and they are pretty thin, they never get fat never. I got my father's side body type I'm tall but also pretty robust, heavy and strong. At the same time I eat as much as I want to but I don't get any fatter even though I don't work out. It's weird.
