having reading comprehension problems? the quote is saying different countries recognize different organizations.
yeah, exists only in your mind. But in our own minds, we also inflate our achievements. let's just say in our minds; we are all lions. We fail to look at other factors that are far more important than athletics.

having reading comprehension problems? the quote is saying different countries recognize different organizations. It says that Ring Magazine (world standard for boxing) doesn't recognize WBO. The WBA and WBC are world recognized as the pinnacle of boxing, ie the place where serious boxers that want to compete with the best go. Mike Tyson, Vladimir Klitschko, Evander Holyfield, all the real contenders are with the WBA or WBC. To put it in plain terms, Krasniqi could get 100 diamond-encrusted championship belts from the WBO and it wouldn't mean sh*t. Not trying to reign on your parade or anything, it's just you should learn who to brag about, and who not to. Especially when it's against people who have serious athletic achievements (Serbs & Montes).

Dinaricism is definately associated with athleticism, lean muscular bodies with good average height. Kosovars and anytype of Yugoslavism were usually mutually antagonistic/exclusive. Serbs, who were mostly in a power postion over Albanians, were not exactly favorable to any type of advancement of Albs especially when there were competing Serbs. I hear JNA stories all the time when Albs out perform Serbs in something like shooting for example and the Serb then gets bitched out by his officer for not being better. Likewise a reward for a Serb for an outstanding achievement in shooting for example would be like a week off or something like that, while the reward for an Alb for the same thing would be much less. It was really all self-promotion for the most powerful and this was a general trend thoughout Yugoslavia. Hence the ethnic majority of Serbs and their advancement at the expense of others creating so much discontent among non-Serbs. Its even a stereotype of Serbs to be going around in athletic clothing, even if only to promote the image of athleticism. As for Albs, you got to be a little more than athletic to produce the number of individual talented fighters that we do. If you think about it, it even promotes the culture-sports theory (of which the genes are still a necessary prerequisite). Yugoslavs had a strong sports culture, and Albanians have a strong fighting culture (not so much organized as much as generally), hence our over representation in the respective fields. Arsenije, either take a trip to Prishtina if you have the balls, or cite an anthropological study where our supposed short height is noted. Otherwise you're just talking s**t. I don't know...Kosovars aren't even known for having good fighters on a global or even European level. Meanwhile little old Montenegro is ranked #25 in the world at soccer, Serbia & Yugoslavia repeatedly won world/european Basketball championships, a Serb is current heavyweight boxing champion in Canada...Montenegro won the European championship in Waterpolo. What did Albania or Albanians ever win on a European/World level? Or specifically Kosovars? If I'm not mistaken Albania beat Montenegro in a football match not too long ago.If Montenegro is ranked 25 albania must be #1 ;D Montenegro even has an Albanian striker for gods sake. You shouldn't be talking any shit. Didn't the albanian basketball team beat the serbian team 1-2 years ago? Albanian just doesn't have the facilities and organizations to be a major team. Not to mention the albanian football federation is corrupt.

Once again learn who to brag about; why brag about someone who chose to play for the Montenegrin national team instead of Albania? Lol Montenegro's u21 team beat Albania too, so what? Every soccer association is corrupt, what else makes you so terribly bad? Maybe if there was a world championship for the worst athletic nation in the world? Even then you'd have trouble against the likes of Malta and San Marino

First of, it all comes to the popularity of the sport. Why aren't for example the Scandinavian countries or the Netherlands represented? The Netherlands who have the tallest population in the world, with Denmark a Scandinavian country coming right behind and then Sweden and then Norway. Notice that there are several countries that aren't considered tall based on statistics (more reliable than what Arsenije has heard, or stereotypes generally made by people who have had little contact with the people they put the stereotypes on).
The reason Afro-Americans are better at basketball than Africans is because the fact that basketball is a very popular sport in America and especially among Afro-Americans (Who by the way are shorter than the whites in America on average, doesn't stop them from dominating the NBA) and the fact that Afro-Americans have the facilities, nutrition and everything that the Africans don't have (yes, Africa is a very poor continent, actually about 40 of the 50 poorest countries lie in sub-Saharan Africa). It's not because of some selective breeding of slaves as Krivo says. If any of you had actually seen and known enough second/third-immigrants from Africa you would have seen that they are much taller than their parents. The importance that nutrition and living conditions generally have on height and physical size is large.

Why do you bring up something that you yourself contradict in your own post? Height has nothing to do with being successful in Basketball, end of. Blacks live badly in America also. On average they are less nourished than White and Asian Americans. Whites on average are taller because there are just many more Whites, from all types of backgrounds. Black Americans are certainly taller than the Anglo-Americans on average though. Selective breeding is common knowledge, Thomas Jefferson wrote quite alot on the subject. Black Americans are on average bulkier and bigger muscled than the rest of America for this very reason.

The Netherlands who have the tallest population in the world, with Denmark a Scandinavian country coming right behind and then Sweden and then Norway. Dude, do you lack reading comprehension? I didn't say anything that was contradicting, I said that the Netherlands and the Scandinavian countries are not represented in this competition and aren't anything special in basketball even though they are pretty tall, The Netherlands having the tallest average height in the world. If there was anything contradicting in this post please refer to that, I'd like to see that. I was saying that there is no correlation between the average height of the people and their sucess in basketball (or other sports for that matter) I'm sure afro-Americans have it bad to some extent in America, they are most likely also get nourishment that is worse than the richer white and Asians. I don't know about Afro-Americans being taller than the Anglo-Americans. According to statistics whites are on average taller than blacks in America, which probably has something to do with living conditions. This really just proves my point, the average height of a people does not correlate with the sucess of a nation in basketball (or other sports for that matter). Selective breeding is common knowledge, Thomas Jefferson wrote quite alot on the subject. Black Americans are on average bulkier and bigger muscled than the rest of America for this very reason. I've heard this before, that Afro-Americans are more prone towards athletism because of selective breeding of slaves in America. However, Africans overall are known for athletism, not only Afro-Americans are known for that. As for Thomas Jefferson's writings about this, I'd like you to find me that, I'd like to see it. Also nutrition plays a very big role as I said earlier. For example there was some study of some south-Americans who had moved to the USA, the younger generation that had grown up in the USA were about 10 cm's taller than their parents (the new generation was about 172 cm's I think), the next generation will probably be even taller than this new generation as they come to live under better condtitions.

I dont understand how some of the albs are even posting such claims like Serbia is overrated in sports. Objectively, Albania is a non factor in just about every sport. Ok go ahead pick some unknown boxing league and you have champ. For for most of the main sports, Serbs have done extremely well, with much less money and much worst facilities and training opportunities than western European countries.
As I play basketball here in Europe, but I grew up in states, I had no idea how well represented Serbs (from CG Srb and Bih) are throughout Europe. You look at any Euroleague team, any Europcup, any major club they have atleast one of our guys. That, for a people of less 11 million is quite the achievement.
Now if we werent back stabbing and jealous people by nature, we would be even better =). But then there wouldnt be Serbs, Bosnians, Montes, Vojvodani, Serbianci, Croatians, Muslims etc.
But really, this arguing is silly. Albs talk to us when you do something (anything!) concrete in a world sport!

I am not saying they are bad, hell i dont know, but to even criticize us is ridiculous! I'll admit serbs are pretty good at sports(Soccer, basketball, and waterpolo i guess?) Vidic the defender from ManU is a nasty player and one of my favorites It's just that every non Albanian on this forum is obsessed with albanians and must bring them in EVERY topic. In this topic one of the first few posts was, where's albania? or Albania probably got destroyed by Luxembourg.... Albania has some football talents especially the kosovar albanians, they're starting to develop alot of them now. The problem is that they play for other countries like Switzerland and Sweeden. A joint albanian-Kosova team will rival the likes of Serbia and Greece.

Mystery, it is a two way street. Just look at the threads, albs mention serbs, serbs mention albs.
In regards to the sports, the reason albanians get mentioned is because despite all of the championships, all of the trophies, etc in most major sports from basketball to tennis to soccer to waterpolo to volleyball to european handball etc Serbs have overacheived, despite a lack of facilities and opportunites relative to the West. Yet you are the first albanian that has ever admitted that Serbs are big time In sports. You are the first one!
I call things how I see them, serbs may hate albs (in general) and vice versa, but some things are obvious. For example, I have noted various times how I admire Albanian unity despite religion differences, and how I am disgusted by Serbs/Muslims/Croats. Do Tosk and Rex and all the other albs still hate me bc I'm a serb? Yes, but that doesn't change the fact that albs stick together. The same thing goes for this situation in regards to sports.

Two reasons Albanians get brought up here:
1. Albanians find any chance they get to insult Serbs. It's called returning the favor.
2. Observational curiosity; Albanians as a whole are remarkably bad at sports and laughs/ridicule at their expense is only natural.

Like other people there isn't no sports facilities at all in Albania and macedonia. Everytime I go to albania I haven't encountered a decent sports facility, I only see ghetto ass gyms in the basements of some dude's house. I really don't know how local players get developed. I don't know if it's the same situation in Serbia. The only sports albanians care about is soccer and contact/fighting sports, I don't even think we know what tennis is. You seem like a cool guy who doesn't hold grudges unlike some other serbs here. I just don't like it when you have morons like Novus who make threads on exterminating and raping non serbs and other really creepy stuff, I also get mad when the Greeks call Albanians jihadists or arabs with no logic. I don't think the other forum members hate you, that would be stupid if they do.. It's just that your a serb and serbs/albanians are a no go.. I mean half of us live in Western Countries and all of us talk like we want to kill eachother while in reality none of us barely have in conflict with eachother. Some of the members are over 50 and talking like facists(Kanaris) while others like Novi grow up in a western country, speak another language and have so much hate towards one group.

Do Tosk and Rex and all the other albs still hate me bc I'm a serb? Yes, but that doesn't change the fact that albs stick together. The same thing goes for this situation in regards to sports. I don't think any of us would sincerely claim we're equal in sports monentarily, let alone better. What people are protesting against is the attempt of some Serbs here to explain these achievements as some genetic predisposition of Serbs as "racially superior" .. which isn't a far cry from what Germans claimed during the Nazi period, when they said that the Aryans are not only cognitively superior to other races, but also physically so. Which is BS really. Being successful in sports has alot to do with investing in sport, building a proper infrastructure of facilities and creating a strong tradition of encouraging sport and physical activity. It is a legacy from the old days of Yugoslavia ,, and the same (good) mentality has persisted in today's Serbia and Croatia and to a lesser degree in the other former republics. By comparison Albania was isolated and did not participate much at all, if at all, in international competitions, nor did it invest in sport even remotely as much as Yugoslavia did. This will of course create a disproportion in achievements between us. Likewise, Kosova was not a province Yugoslavs wanted to invest much in, in terms of sport or other aspects .. If this came down to physical superiority alone, it does not explain our successes in martial arts where the factor of teamplay is absent, and it all comes down to just you. Here, we've had pretty of successes .. and virtually all individual matches our fighters have had with Serbs, those I can recall, we've won. I'm not saying that makes us physically superior ,, but if Serbs were genetically predisposed to be physically stronger than us, then how do we explain this detail above? Finally I'll just end with some observations made by SERBS who visited Kosova in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and commented on our physical characteristics; " Thus the travel writer Ivan Ivaniæ described the Albanians of Kaçanik as handsome, tall men known for their bravery, whose love songs were very emotive, because their strong southern blood made them passionate lovers, and reported that guests were fully protected in their homes and their women untouchable (Ivaniæ, 1903). Hadži-Vasiljeviæ praised their diligence; he stated that their fields and vineyards were of the best quality; that they were the best at animal husbandry and the best craftsmen; that when they had enough to live they were peaceful and good neighbours, and even trusted friends; that they were healthy and tough; that they did not say much, but liked to show off; that they were proud and conceited (Hadži-Vasiljeviæ, 1909). He stressed their moderation, in that they drank little other than coffee; that they ate better than Serbs and cared more than the latter for cleanliness and health; that they were handsome, though not so much their women; and that the pretty women you did find among them derived from an Albanian-Serb mingling, and from beautiful Serb girls having converted to Islam. He said they were hospitable, quiet and polite, sober and clever, but also crafty and jealous (Hadži-Vasiljeviæ, 1913)." and " Stojan Novakoviæ described them as bony, slim people, healthy and as hardy as flint; but he complained that they were also wild, robbing and often killing every Serb peasant they met (Novakoviæ, 1906). Jaša Tomiæ acknowledged their military prowess, saying that they were exceptionally skilled warriors, and that no one could accuse them of cowardice; that they did not attack women, and were very hospitable (Tomic, 1913). Although he did not see them as fit to have a state, Toma Oraovac admitted that they were native to the Balkans and one of its more cultured and advanced peoples; while Dragiša Vasiæ argued that they were supremely more honest and humane than Bulgarians - which is understandable in a book about the Bulgarians (Vasiæ, 1919)." www.bosnia.org.uk/news/news_body.cfm?newsid=2386

We have consistently been superior in tennis, which is not a team sport. Point proven.
As for facilities, I do not know where you live, but i played division one sports in the US, and I play here in Serbia now. In terms of facilities and investments, Serbia, CG, and Bih are way behind and have been compared to the West and to America. Way behind. Aside from Millenium in Vrsac, Beogradska Arena, the stadium in Podgorica (what is the name krivo? where buducnost plays?) and the new gym they built here in Zrenjanin, all of the other gyms are poor in comparison to anything in the west. And the facilicties and investments have bad for years. Yet we still have the most successful basketball players in Europe. How do you explain that? Furthermore, I do not think we are racially superior to Albanians. But we definately are built for bball.

Some populations are more athletic than others. Do you honestly believe if Albania converts to a ghetto culture, the country would start producing NBA players?
