In Thailand, roasted rodent meat has become something of a delicacy, according to a BBC report. More expensive than chicken or pork, a kilogram of rat meat goes for about $6.
In a video report, the BBC's Tom Santorelli reports on the Thai delicacy that many may find repugnant.
Professional rat-catchers start work before the sun rises, setting traps near the rat holes. It may sound gruesome, but their line of work is quick and nimble compared to the methods employed by some city-dwellers.
In Mumbai, the city's army of rat-hunters don't even mess around with traps; they go straight for the kill by smashing rats against the ground or bashing their heads in with sticks.
According to the BBC, rat meat is so popular that demand for the cooked rodent flesh is outweighing the available supply.

For the people ask why we must hold the rat's tail and smash them like that, they are very big rat ,their teeth is sharp and they eat rotten fresh so it's dangerous if they can bite you, virus in their teeth could infest into your blood , make you fever and septicemia then die . Hold rat's tail is the safest way to avoid being bitten
you guys can tell me why not eat chicken? Well image there is an earth quake, big game gone ,all you have left is 1 chicken and 1000000 rats , if you refuse to eat rats then with one chicken you can only survive in one day ... now you are pushed in the edge of the mountain : you have only two choice eat to survive or dead. There is no kind of third choice alike go to the super market and buy food when your refrigerator is empty Till you are in our circumstance then you will understand us

I admit that I have some issues, but I'm not hurting animals and I don't get how one living in America can misspell McDonalds. So yeah, I'm "full of hate" because at every turn I make, I see something wicked and evil.

Well,I just bought a miniature poodle... and I love the little thing..never thought I could..I can't believe we potty trained it in 4 days...it even sits and when we tell it to.. and it's only 11 weeks old. So I don't hate animals... neither does Zetaman...he just post this to make people aware of whats happening out there. |

I could care less how they correctly spell McDonalds since I really never go there and consider that food something that is less desirable then rat meat. BTW it was just a typo.
PS: Interesting that signs appear also when there is no full moon, that might be more worrisome since it might indicate that the condition is getting worse. Perhaps some electro shocks might do the trick.

This is good news, hopefully in time other countrys can export rat meat to the Asian countrys that have them on the menu and maybe they can be hunted to extinction.
