I'm no expert but those two pictures that Kanaris posted clearly depict two-different style "head gears"/hats. Look at the shape/form and also how it sits on the head - that's what makes all the difference. and btw, just because you take up a fashion or style doesn't mean continuity in anything. I can start wearing baggy pants and and bandannas, does that make me black? ... if I start wearing a sombrero and have my children continue this tradition does it mean I am mexican? It's comical seeing them grasping at straws ... one day they are Illyrian the other Ancient Greeks then on some others Thracians and Entruscians ..... it all depends which side of the bed they wake up on... Somehow 'these' highly sophisticated peoples stop writing their history before 1000 ad...maybe they ran outta of ink? not only did they forget how to document - they forgot about everything they supposedly documented before.... that's some wack business , no other explanation than national-amnesia, I cannot think of anything else.

Why are you so worried about Albanian documentation? ... do you work for the government or something?

I'm on a new brutal schedule but it's a rather exciting time. I wake up early to start my training at 4 30 AM and often stay on call till about 5 or 6 pm. Every other weekend off, if the preceptor thinks we deserve it. Best days of my life!

I don't know how the hospitals can get away with that... its rather stupid putting interns through the ringer like that... and it doesn't stop at hospitals only my son started working for Ernst&Young and he starts at 9 to 11 at night...at least for the first two years it's gonna be like that.... the top people feeding off the bottom ones...Good Luck!

To end this... The fustanella cannot be albanian because it is worn all of the balkans, from romania to mani. As we all know, the albanians had nothing to little power in terms of assimilation and influence on their neighbors because they were still a primitive tribal community hiding in the mountains [FACT]. The most probable theory of origin of the fustanella is that it is of Greek descent since the entire balkans had been under our rule for hundreds of years.

In the bold - is the reason why I find albanian nationalism fascinating. They claim everything yet have nothing to show for it. Not to bring them down, but they surely put themselves up too high. Their nationalism is based on some sort of "greatness", there is nothing "great" if there is no influence. They took up others' instead.

That is exactly their problem, and its what makes albanians so fucking annoying sometimes. They always brag about being so great when in fact they have next to nothing to be proud of. Even if they are the descendants of the Illyrians (which is highly questionable and will probably never be answered), so what? I mean, they cant even name their own cities and villages yet they go on claiming other cultures things as theirs. anyways, yeah

They have some 'neo' historians some of which Rex knows personally (thats where he gets his underlined pages) that sit all day and try to figure a way to subtract from Greek culture and to add to the Albanian one... For instance they will see words that might have one or two vowels that might resemble the greek ones and they twist things up to make it look like they were originally albanian. Funny stuff really and fascinating work on their part coming up with nonexisting 'truths'.
I remember a few years ago when Rex had only 5000 posts he would beg for 'crumbs' in historical value and ever since the proliferation of this Albanian history making propaganda machine Rex has jumped in head first... Funny in way watching him hobble up this stuff like he was famished and it was prime rib steak!!

The Pelasgian -albano connection theory came about during the 2nd half of the 19th Century ( where was it before?), the Albanians up to this point NEVER aknowedged this connection. All this propaganda was later to be further cordinated by their communist regime.
