Aphrodite in Arvanitika means = "the day is near" yupsomthing like that... in albanian same.. and we use this name pretty common... Arvanites & Arvanitovlachs of Greece They do not accept the term Albanians. Of course we are not Albanians, the term Arvanitovlachs saying something other. Sometimes ignorance brings misunderstanding. So somewhere near the current Northern Epirus was the ancient city (Arvanos). The Archaeologists searching for years to locate the exact position. They say he was somewhere south of the or even below. The region of Bitola (Monastery) today Skopje, south to Saranda called Arvanos. So called up the last Byzantine times. The residents of this whole region was called Arvanites And Vlachs who lived or moved to this area called Arvanitovlachs. That area of the Vlachs of Arvanou. We speak for many centuries before present day Albania. So do not confuse the terms Arvanitis and Arvanitovlachs with Albania and Albanians. The Albanian State was create yesterday! said the Arvanites. So we Arvanites and Arvanitovlachs and well do our pride.

LMAO!!!!! is this some kindergarden here? Serbian Milos is written : МИЛОШ , pronounced as MILOSH, and comes from word milost, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milosz , it is also found in Czech and Polish, so the albanian claim is laughable. Greek Milos is written : ΜΗΛΟΣ , pronounced as MILOS, and nobody know the etymology, but it is 100% true greek. Real greeks live there. (in contrast e.g. to Athens where the majority behave and think like albanians) In Greek, mil (what tsopanos posted) is called ΜΥΛΟΣ, pronounced as MILOS but written with Υψιλον.

Onomatologie milo , apple mythologie says so and is older than every exaple you try here to explain this handsome young man give aphrodite an apple ( milo ) and not a milos is to heavy for the aphrodite vre ,,, Old Slavonic root 'milu' (merciful), the Old Slavic 'mil' (grace, favor).mean not apple ? In Western Europe, the fruit was often depicted as an apple, possibly because of a misunderstanding of, or a pun on mălum, a native Latin noun which means evil (from the adjective malus), and mālum, another Latin noun, borrowed from Greek μῆλον, which means apple. The Venus de Milo is an ancient Greek statue and one of the most famous works of ancient Greek sculpture. Milo is in the modern and ancient Greek word for apple.
