I dont know about those particular names
but I can tell you that there are names that are the same in greece as in Albania bcs of Albanians that moved farther south on the peninsula and renamed the village/towns after the ones they left up north from many many centuries ago
go and find some Arvanitis and ask them
ps ...even Albanians as far as from Kosova/Dardania moved centuries ago deep into modern day greece .....
they are saying that the Suliots were Gehg dialect speaking Albanians

Rex,just answer the question. Not really interested in all the other stuff.... Why would two villages, one up and one lower be named 'ano' and 'kato'? Is it because the love albs have for Greece?

Lol, Sounds like a slavic name, but the names ano and kato identify it as Greeks, very strange in that area, provably remnants of the ancient Epirots in the area.

Both words together ano kato in greek means upside down & inside out as in a messed way or in an unorganized manner, an expression used when say someone’s clothes are all over the place then they are ano kato. In ancient times places were named after what reminded them etc.

Kater An" referring to your upside down ways there a kater = 4 An = side/sides and sometimes used as "sut me kater an " eyes on all sides Latin days maybe

Ano porocan and kato porocan are two different villages, "kato" is the lower part and "ano" is the higher part.
