Well those who live in border areas are pretty much regarded as greeks living in their ancestral lands no one disputes that but as far as those in land around himara are late arrivals and it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case but i've not heard that story before

They arent new to Himara! How can most of the villages of Himara have Greek names then?! Theyve been there since the beginning! Whereas the Albanian of Himara arrived in the 14th century from Mirdita...their names prove it.

I disagree ...you're just here to obfuscate things. You're no more qualified than me who's been talking to a 67 year old Albanian man about his homeland. Oh yeah I forgot scientific evidence with a 1000 year missing link in it.... gimmi a break...

wow! mike you're losing the plot lately, you think we're at the same level of knowledge because you had a conversation about albania with a 67 year old man?
i don't even know how to respond to that,
how so i confuse things? i don't understand that comment, a very random thing to say.

Atdhetar the Vlachs never existed in that area! The fact that most of the names are of Greek origin explains how long they have been there. Of course the there is also an Albanian element in the region (half and half) but shouldnt it be fair that the Greek villages get Greek schools and the rights that the other Greeks get?

what? i never said that, i believe anyone should have their schools and feel free to practise their way of life without being judged, why do you think i am against that?
the problem i have is with double standards you guys have, we protected and nourished our minorities whereas greeks forcibly assimilated theirs, now you turn around and have the audacity to tell us how to humanely treat our minorities when you massacred, drove out and intimidated yours into integration?
greeks do not have a leg to stand on when it comes to matters of minorities.
but to answer your question, himariots have the same rights as other greeks as far as i am aware.
