So you think your history is based on scientific research? Are you serious? I guess you haven't been reading the parts about 'most probable' "shrouded in mystery" and many historians have 'deduced' that Albanians 'might' be Illyrians...Your history is still up in the air to be studied and dissected... You appeared in the Balkans in one of the most tumultuous times when wars were raging and lands were changing hands every other month... when Byzantine emperors were left with problems arising from where to settle these people called Albanians.. why settle them, where were they before? Don't let this get personal... better than scientific research ....common sense history has been and will be twisted for political or national gain simply look how the serbs are trying to twist the last 20 years ....what do you think then been twisting and ringing the last 200 or 1200 years .... simply look at the liberation of greece just recently in the 1800's and if thats not twisted history what is then .....

What is this bs you're posting? It doesn't further you cause... to me it's nonsense... You so badly want to be Greek. no Canaris ....not wanting to be greek but our connection to greek and furthermore into so called ancient greek before all the knuckle heads from the east flooded the mainland and to disprove your 1200 ad thingy ..... you know we are ....our language just with the little bit of Latin proves that let alone the common words and closeness of older Homeric we have in common with our everyday Albanian language

Don't let this get personal... seriously you are starting to talk like picko, in what planet does scientific research not count as a strong argumentative basis? To insinuate otherwise is comical and a travesty to history itself. I'm not the one making it personal, it is you who have embarked on this self appointed quest to reduce albanians to an insignificant race with no legacy and no history, and i have no idea where you get the courage and nerve to come up with such claims because it is apparent you won't heed the scientific findings, By all means go ahead and say whatever you want but i thought you were above picko's level of thinking

Word Origin & History theme c.1300, from O.Fr. tesme (13c., with silent -s-), from L. thema "a subject, thesis," from Gk. thema "a proposition, subject, deposit," lit. "something set down," from root of tithenai "put down, place," from PIE base *dhe- "to put, to do" (see factitious) θέμα / théma

Yea but its only scientific research, you simply can't rely on that This doesn't proof anything... it simply shows that you copied Greek words into your vocabulary.... why do you think it means you were here before 1000 ad? Heck everyone and their mammies has copied Greek... name someone in the western world that hasn't copied the Greeks? Expect for them they give credit to where its due... you people took it and made it yours... thats whats so silly about your history.Good thing it's only the Albanians no one gives a chit.

You clearly being obtuse on purpose or are you just stupid?
If the Illyrians had no written language and they were hellenized by the Greeks... and stayed stagnant up in the "mountains' like so many of you claim..and fought of change to their mixed up language..but greek evolved to koini and then to modern Greek..because of the need to simplify it. This of course can only happen if you indeed have a connection to the illyrians... I simply believe you acquired those words by mass propaganda during the commie years...
