Dobrica Cosic’s family confirmed on Sunday that the famous and often controversial Serbian writer, academic and politician had died in his sleep. Born in the village of Velika Drenova, near Trstenik, central Serbia, in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in December 29, 1921, Cosic joined a Communist youth organization as a youngster before the Second World War, subsequently fighting with Josip Tito's Partisan forces during the Second World War. The years of the Second World War served as the inspiration for his novels, "Daleko je sunce" ("Far Away Is the Sun"), and "Deobe", (“Divisions”), while his novel "Koreni" (“Roots”) deals with Serbia's war of independence from the Ottoman Empire in the 19th century. As a writer, Cosic twice won the prestigious NIN award for literature. As a member of the Central Committee of the League of Communists and of the government, he was initially close the late Yugoslav leader, Tito. But in the 1960s, a growing feeling of Serbian nationalism distanced him from Tito and from his concept of Yugoslavia as a federation of six equal republics. Like many Serbs, he felt Serbian interests in Yugoslavia were being marginalised as the Yugoslav state became more decentralized. From then on, he became a well-known dissident. After Tito’s death in 1980, he became ever more outspoken, especially about the cause of the Serbs in Kosovo. In the Serbian Academy for Sciences and Arts he was an influential figure and was also one of the signatories of the notorious Memorandum, published in 1986, which demanded the recentralisation of Yugoslavia and accused both Croats and Albanians of committing a form of silent genocide against the Serbs in Kosovo and Croatia. His views were welcome to the new strongman in Serbia, Slobodan Milosevic, who took power in Belgrade the late 1980s and who subsequently led Serbia into wars in Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo. Cosic took an active part in the Milosevic regime, serving as a figure-head president of a rump Yugoslav state, comprising Serbia and Montenegro, from 1992-93. However, he later became disillusioned with Milosevic and withdrew from frontline politics. One of his disgreements with Milosevic was over what to do with Kosovo, which was vitally important to most Serbs, partly for historic reasons, but overwhelmingly populated by ethnic Albanians. Cosic increasingly believed that Serbia could only retain a share of Kosovo if it agreed to a partition of the province - a view that Milosevic would not countenance. Almost until his death he thought that was the only lasting solution to the Kosovo issue. In his last interview covering 14 pages of Serbian weekly Nedeljnik, in April, Cosic admitted that Kosovo was more or less lost, not least because Serbia now lacked the manpower to go to war again."We must not go to war. We no longer have biological or patriotic potential for that. I believe that peace is the only condition for our existence,” Cosic said in his final interview. www.balkaninsight.com/en/article/dobrica-cosic-dies-at-92

hence this comes to play :
"A lie, trait of our patriotism" “We lie to deceive ourselves, to console others, we lie for mercy, we lie to fight fear, to encourage ourselves, to hide our and somebody else's misery. We lie for love and honesty. We lie because of freedom. Lying is a trait of our patriotism and the proof of our innate intelligence. We lie creatively, imaginatively and inventively."
thank you for your long used quote Dobrica Cosic ...now begone

Dobrica Cosic Doesn’t Win the Nobel Prize Serbian media reported Thursday that one of their own countrymen, writer Dobrica Cosic, had won the Nobel Prize for Literature. However, he hadn't. Soon after, the Swedish Academy announced the real winner: Swedish poet Tomas Transtromer. The Serbian media reported Cosic as the winner because they had all received an email, seeming to come from the Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences, announcing Cosic as the winner. The email linked to a website, nobelprizeliterature.org, that seemed to confirm Cosic as the winner. However, both the email and the site were fakes. (link) hence ....again : "A lie, trait of our patriotism" “We lie to deceive ourselves, to console others, we lie for mercy, we lie to fight fear, to encourage ourselves, to hide our and somebody else's misery. We lie for love and honesty. We lie because of freedom. Lying is a trait of our patriotism and the proof of our innate intelligence. We lie creatively, imaginatively and inventively."

Isn't this every day life in most peoples lives to at least some extent.
In fact, whole civilization functions based on lies.
If pure honesty would be introduced and constantly exercised I believe there would be a world wide collapse of the system.
1) Start from family. You have a family member, spouse or friend and they are having a bad day and behave in a manner which one might deem confrontational, what do you? Do you engage them or ignore the provocations and or downplay them, and use some sort of diversion topic or remain silent. You are being dishonest still by doing any one of the latter since you are not expressing your view on their topics.
2) Child wants something badly and you believe that to be unhealthy or unsafe. Do you clearly explain the reasons why to your kid or probably use diversion tactic to divert attention to something else. Again dishonesty. Not to mention all the stories such as santa, where kids believe in full fledged fantasy world that we have created. Lets not forget the school, whose purpose is among among things, to train kids on how to lie to they can fit in nicely within the civilization and world of adults.
3) Not to mention your work environment which is basically from start to end a fake environment and not to mention your relationship to your boss. Honestly, how much to you kiss up to the guy and act like you find him or her charming when in reality you can not stand their guts. Again more lies.
4) System itself is run by politicians who are the first class liars on a level that is unmatched.
Dobrica was stating in the quote what is basically in front of all of us and is global in quality since it describes a human condition and not condition unique to serbs.

Lying is fundamental part of life. You don't go to show hard-core sex to your kids, but they were created by a similar act. Also lying would be a good thing when it has to do with creating an excess of positive energy, positive spirit. I am against lying, when it is used as a mean to keep a sick organization alive.

He cannot deal with anything else than that. Our chechen Rex is only as capable as a 2-states flip-flop.

100% spot on.
Lets remember that most ppl of todays greece was imported from Italy as well. Both vlahs/sarakatsans and of course greeks of south greece.
This is documented.
West created non-slavic-greek areas of land to separate true Greeks from their Slavic brothers of the north. Then mixed greeks with vlahalbanians and destroyed true GREEK-SLAVIC spirit in Greece.
That's why most of neo-false-greeks hate Cretans and Cypriots and Bulgarians and Slavs in general.

sheeeeet ...your own slav brothers dont trust you let alone us Illyrians .... Illyrians are extinct, you demented fool. There's at least a thousand years separation between Illyrians and Shqiptars. I know your feral mind cannot understand this but please try. It's as stupid as other creationist myths that the primitives of yesteryear had. But I guess Shqiptars are today's primitives so it makes sense that you would believe such things.
