Telecom market liberalization does not run smoothly in Montenegro either
Although they will soon have possibility to choose between two providers, Montenegro citizens are facing first problems when dialing numbers from one network to another already experiencing competition tricks.
Judging by different information on the interconnection contract, users of both networks will have to wait a while to get a respectable service. To be more specific, M:tel users cannot establish connection with T-Com fixed and mobile network.
M:tel says that the contract which would clear up the hitch should be signed today and the calls should start functioning from the end of the week. T-Com, on the other hand, differently formulated the statement saying that “the procedure would be finished within three months as planned”.
“Commercial details were coordinated after long negotiations through the mediation of the Agency for Telecommunications. As long as our Company is concerned, we were ready for signing the contract at the beginning of October. T-Com asked for amendments what prolonged the process. Everything is in order now and we expect to sign the contract today. That means that our users will, from the end of the week, call T-Com fixed and mobile numbers without difficulties.” , Ana Martinoviæ, spokesperson for M:tel, said for the Vijesti.
M:tel has got several thousand fixed telephony users in Podgorica. The citizens of Cetinje, Nikšiæ, coastal cities and northern part of Montenegro will get the connection soon. (Vijesti)
