Finally, I watched it.
Well, I liked the movie. However, I realized that Romania was a such a corrupt place to live only a decade or two.
A few days ago, I read that the Romania ranks second after Russia in terms of the files lodged against that country in the European Court for Human Rights.
In terms of files per capita, Romania is the European champion.
What do you really think about that? Is Romania still a corrupt places like it used to be?
Improvements? what are those for common people?

I'm not exactly sure how the movie made you think of corruption and I don't know what the statistics are saying, but I think Bulgaria is doing worse in the corruption department. I can't answer for the rest of what you said. Perhaps others familiar with the topic could answer you, and a link or source would surely help your argument.

Didn't you notice how people kept on selling black market stuff even in hotel lobbies, and bribing each other with cigarettes, and how they used to wait for some goods outside some wrecked stores? You watched to movie, right? Will you let me know your observation about the past and present without tackling your southern neighbor? Of course, If you do not mind, and if you lived in Romania for sometime? PS: Your karma looks stunning, man. ;D

I saw the movie at the theater (cinema) and the things you mention are illegalities. When the press, the EU, and other organizations speak of corruption, they are referring to higher adminstration, not some Arab student selling cigarettes.

Well, when illegalities are all around (it was far more than an Arab student selling cigarettes), it could be named as corrupt, right?

There are many things that can be called corrupt. You can say the humanrace is corrupt, but in this case, they are referring to a specific degree of criminality that involves higher administration.
Watch Moartea domnului Lazarescu to see real corruption.

Watch Moartea domnului Lazarescu to see real corruption. Not corruption but ignorance and neglect.

Maybe Anittas didn't saw Lazarescu as that movie has nothing to do with corruption. In fact i've saw both 4,3,2 and Lazarescu and Lazarescu is much better. To be honest is the best movie i've saw in a while and i watched a lot of movies in the last months. And the effect it had on the people that saw it, the effect that can be seen on the comments on imdb it shows that it address universal issues, that a doctor from Thailand, a person from Hungary, USA or Argentina etc that had recent experience with the hospitals finds strikingly familiar. I think that "The death of mister Lazarescu" fell short of a masterpiece because of an abrupt ending and a rather slow beginning but on the whole it is a memorable movie that should not be missed by any Romanian and from imdb reactions it should not be missed by anyone who is past Hollywood idiotic movies.

I saw the movie, but you're right: it didn't show corruption. It's just an old habbit of mine to always think of corruption whenever I think of Ro doctors. And I agree that the movie was better than this one, but perhaps a bit too long.

In the 4,3,2 movie, people even trade cleansing agents. Is there any non-corrupt country like that?
