Historically speaking, Bulgars are connected to the Turks more than anyone around. ;D Its not prooven Bulgars were Turkic. Plus u ve said we are mainly Thraco-Slavs with a little bit of Bulgars, so its not very strong connection even if the Bulgars were Turcic.

It is commonly accepted that the Bulgarians were one of the Turkic peoples. So, I wonder, does it really matter how strong the connection is these days? What matters is the fact that you are all connected to the Turkey one way or the other.

In a way we may be connected but not in the way u proposed it. Both our nation include the Thracian ethnical element, plus Slavs are recorded to be moved by the Byzantine emperor in Anatolia so u also have slavic blood (maybe drops but still). There are recorded settlements of German tribes in the Bulgarian lands and the Turkish lands. I also think u have strong connection with the Greeks because most of todays Turks used to be Byzantine Greeks, at least in my oppinion. Proove: u look Mediteranians, the Turkic features are absent among the nowadays Turks. However I think the religion differ the Bulgarians and the Turks alot.

where the helll do you get this crap that it's commonly accpeted, amongst whom?? turks? for three years people on these forums have pounded it into your head that this theory isn't true and still you deem to insult us by imposing YOUR theory.
and i suggest you don't insult our independance and integrity by stating we are all connected to turkey, you're begging to be flamed, it appears that that's the only way to get through to you people.

Turks, Slavs, and Thracians are the main ingredient of today's Danube Bulgars. Turkic features? Like this?

Their eastern calendar prooves that - all animal names in turkic language. + all other detail turkic. Thier titles, "khans", weren't any German either..
Why are you so ashamed, confessing their real origin (when you glorify them so much)?? All ppl (except some of the Bulgarians) know who and what steppe-Bulgars were. Because most are ashamed of their real origin, new thories are continiously made.. like being from Altay, afghans, persian-iranians and who knows.. extra terrestrials?!

O Rhezus. The had a calendar with turcic words so what? We also had the title "kinartikin" in the Second Bulgarian Empire. Were we Greek? It could be borrowed. The researches of the graves of the bulgars prooved they were 1.80 m long. Doesnt sound like tirkic right? I m not ashamed of the Bulgars, u obviously are, which is pity, because they formed the state Bulgaria. We are what we are because of them.

That says a lot about their origin. I don't think they just borrowed the turkic words. And what for an excuse for their turkic titles?! Their habbits, etc. etc. All speaks for what they actually were. If in some grave they found a man 1.80, it doesn't automatically mean all were 1.80 tall.
I'm not ashamed of them, but I don't buy the fact we are mostly of that origin. Even if they created a state, gave a new name, our lands are full of Thracian graves - here... tons of coded articrafts which tell us about our legacy.
