I want Montenegro to adopt the Perper as national currency!!!
My heart yearns for this!! I like the euro and its a strong currency, but Perpers are our currency and Diko!! We can't give it up!
Also I want a traditional King and Queen to be placed in Montenegro, while still maintaining a President, ala Great Britain (Parliamentary democracy and Constitutional monarchy)
Please no nationalism/derailing of topic here! Thanks! ;D

I reopened the topic to see how it progresses from the start. (I also cleared the topic of unrelated content)
Here TR expressed his views about how he would prefer MNT to be.
Feel free to express yours or comment on his.

Perhaps would be a more natural option then having EURO. Question is why would MNT choose EURO over 'perper'?
"Also I want a traditional King and Queen to be placed in Montenegro, while still maintaining a President, ala Great Britain (Parliamentary democracy and Constitutional monarchy)"
Who would that be that French guy who looks and act French and doesn't speak a word of descent 'Montenegrin'. Perhaps we are in new age where the monarchy is a thing of the past, more primitive beginnings and what if the Monarch is inept and thus liable to sink a given country into a whole. Why rely on one individual and what right would so called 'royal blood' have to rule over MNT (it is not like they are related to its people nor concerned for their interests).
*royal blood are (practically inbred) European monarchs as mixed as an average American.
Please no nationalism/derailing of topic here! Thanks!
For the sake of the topic and seeing where it goes, ok.

Hmm, well at the time they didn't have a choice between the euro and the perper, but the Euro and the Yugoslav Dinar!
The Euro was much stronger so they chose the latter!
I believe that the euro can improve the economy, but lets say in some years (Perhaps by 2015), the economy of Montenegro will be much stronger, and Montenegro decides not to join the EU, like England did, and as such adopt the Perper as currency.
No, I believed he refused to do so. We would find the next in line.
New age? Tell that to the United Kingdom. The Past and Future are held hand in hand, you can't deny either.
And what I was talking about wasn't installing a King and letting him run the country, but Having a traditional King and Queen, who would represent the country, while a President still being in place, making the decisions.

No one, nowadays, is worthy to be considered King of Crna Gora.... The last worthy King was Nikola and that is where it should be left...

some time in the 90's this happened when i was inpodgorica, there was this gypsy, wearing CG,traditional outfit, from hat to opanke, and a sword on his hip, he had a wagon he would sit on (wooden) being pulled by a mule. he was the "kralj od crne gore", so he called himself. does anybody maybe remember this guy? who knows if he has kids maybe his dynasty continued, and essentially tr- theres your "monarchy"

Why would any country choose paper over something of real value like gold? Oh yeah, so governments can spend more.
Yet I don't see how a democracy can really 'fix' the problems in a monarchy. In fact, I think monarchies probably have more merit than democracies.

Royal blood, that's all that ever made any king worthy.

I just think it's stupid to say that just because one has "royal blood" he is fit to be a king.. The blood that runs through you has little to do with how you'd be able to fulfill your duties as a King.

You have a good point, perhaps it would be smarter to have a sort of election?
I remember reading that Njegos was actually elected to be vladika by the people, so I dont see a problem with a king being elected now.
We would find the 3 closest male blood relatives(over 21) to King Nikola and place an election in Montenegro for who would be most suitable to be King.
Blood is still vital because the continuity of the Dynasty is very important to the honor and history of Montenegrin royalty, and he would get more respect from the people, then lets say, if some random Montenegrin was chosen.

So called royal blood doesn't mean squat as only few within any give royal blood group are worth any attention. Thus usually founders of such dynasties are worth some respect while descendants as a rule can never live up to the predecessors reputation [and how can they as they are only 50% related (son/daughter), 25% related (grandson/granddaughter), 12.5%(grand grandson/grand granddaughter etc etc) related you get the point thus genetically there is no valid reason for such dynasties]. The only logical 'royal' idea I ever came across (of course it can be inherited but membership would be judged by actions and ability) is one presented looong time ago by Plato and that is Philosopher Kings. Philosopher kings are the hypothetical rulers of Plato's Utopian Kallipolis. If his ideal city-state is to ever come into being, "philosophers [must] become kings…or those now called kings [must]…genuinely and adequately philosophize" (The Republic, 5.473c).en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philosopher_king
