I should think that the slightly slanted eyes and high cheekbones are also a sign of some Mongoloid influences.

Eyes are very slavic, around the eyes some dinaric influence, cheek bones slavic, i would say that your grand-grandmom looks very slavic to me, i would guess that she might be from somewhere east europe or russia.

She does look like a sculpture of a Dacian, I once saw. A tarabostes (noble). Presumed to be of Burebista. Another tarabostes A comati (common folk). The head of a statue of a Dacian prisoner of war, from a palace in Rome, or something like that. He looks very ferocius, with those Neanderthalian eye ridges... Roman Emperor Galerius, a Dacian, who wanted to rename the Roman Empire to "the Dacian Empire". Emperor Leo "the Thracian". He was of Thracian origin (some sources say he was Dacian, other that he was Bessian (one of the southernmost Thracian tribe which was Romanised, instead of Graecised). Also see other statues of Roman Emperors of northern Balkan (=not Greek) origin (Constantin, Justinian, etc.). They look like typical Romanians and Central Europeans. and for the sake of it, a Romanian peasant from Tara Motilor (a rather izolated mountainous area in Transylvania) I`ve found on Google images What I can say is that in my opinion your grandmother doesn`t look Russian. At least not the kind of Russian I`m thinking about. Not only is faulty to simply say that she "looks Russian", considering the fact that Russians vary so very much, from that ugly Ladogan to the Pontid type, she just doesn`t resemble my idea of a Russian face (the type with the silly pointy nose and flat face).
