Sales across the board as investors take profits Date: 3-16-2005 Stocks dropped yesterday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE) following three positive sessions, as investors sold across the board. The ASE general index closed at 3,102.67 points, a drop of 26.29 points or 0.84 percent. The FTSE/ASE-20 index of blue chips declined 0.85 percent to close at 1,743.42 points. Mid- and small-caps declined 0.49 percent and 0.52 percent respectively. Some blue chips ended with gains. These included Germanos (up 1.38 percent to 24.98 euros), Duty Free Shops (0.96 percent to 14.70 euros), Emporiki Bank (0.17 percent to 23.32 euros) and Public Power Corporation (0.17 percent to 23.50 euros). By contrast, significant losses were sustained by OPAP (down 3.24 percent to 23.86 euros), CosmOTE (2.54 percent to 13.80 euros), Hellenic Technodomiki (2.50 percent to 3.90 euros), Intracom (2.17 percent to 4.50 euros), Titan (1.88 percent to 27.16 euros) and Alpha Bank (1.45 percent to 28.54 euros). Among sectoral indices, the only gainers were insurance (1.20 percent) and real estate (1.18 percent). Out of 374 traded stocks, 94 gained, 200 declined and 83 ended unchanged.
