Since some moderators are not or may not be sure what are the rules for them to follow I created them;
basic rules are
* NO_ Provocations/Extremism/Primitivism/Spamming!!!
>>>> * Violators__WILL__be__banned!!!*
More detailed list of rules is bellow!
1) Being a moderator has simply to do a lot with combination of common sense, following rules and being fair. A moderator has to be aware that being a moderator gives that individual additional behavior restrictions (especially when it comes to being insulting) that might not be imposed on average visitors (who have a right to misbehaive in forum barbarum while moderators are to be on their best possible behavior at all times in all forums for as long as they are posting under a nick that has a moderator status). Thus for a moderator to lets say post something distasteful in forum barbarum they will have to do it under another nickname (a nickname that does not have a moderator status this way he/she would be disassociated from illyria forums).
2) Simply allow discussions to take place and if they are going in a direction that will create a flame war (war of words) then modify or close the topic or if rules are being broken and then delete a message(s) or have the entire topic (with or without replies) transferred to forum named !! Transferred Deleted Topics !! .
3) Topics that should be deleted are to be transferred to forum named !! Transferred Deleted Topics !! . This way I want to further evaluate the message and also see if moderators are being fair, are they being abused etc.
4) Don't allow personal topics (especially with negative connotations) in any forums (there is criticism forum for that), since they don't contribute in any way to the forums well-being. Specialized forums are not what certain person is or the way they are but rather are about whatever their name displays (ex. Montenegro Forum is about Montenegro and its people). Moderators have a right to defend themselves against the slander directed at them also and delete posts within their forums (where they dont belond anywhere but in criticism forum where 'verbal arguments' can be waged and after a period the conslusion has been reached the given topic within criticism forum will be deleted).
5) Stating something about some forum participant or a nation (again especially with negative connotations) without proof is equal to slander and I will not allow this and moderator can freely delete any topics or replies that are of personal nature or unrelated to general nature of the topic.
6) Replies have to strictly remain within the nature of the given topic otherwise they will be deleted.
7) Also all the forums are 'bilinqual' (except Illyria Forum where only English language is to be used) or local language + English (some forums are even trilingual such as R.Macedonia Forum, SlavMacedonian+Albanian+English or Kosovo Forum, Albanian+Serbian+English).More on Macedonia Forum! In trilinqual forums (of course English language is the only interforum wildcard language or meaning it can be used in any forum, under any thread or in any reply) the two accepted languages in a given thread are (of course) English language and 'mother' language (still a language that is acceptable in that given forum) that the topic opener started in or that the topic opener understands (will be a mother language of a topic opener and all of this out of respect of topic opener).
* In addition to the rule 7: Kosovo Forum is effectively two forums within one. 'Serbian sphere' is a topic that is started by a Serb and 'Albanian sphere' is a topic that is started by an Albanian. If the reply is stating things within 'Albanian topic' that might be deemed offensive by multiple Albanians then such Albanian mods might choose to alter the context within said topic and vice versa for a 'Serbian topic'. Thus opening a parallel topic (within Serbian sphere) might be the best course of events. Of course topic/reply can not contain coarse language. I of course reserve the right to interfere to ensure proper balance and justice within said forums is in existence.
8 ) No obligation as far as timing goes (I still monitor all the forums), when you are visiting forums and reading them and you see something out of place that is when you moderate. Timing frequency is up to you, as long is it is not once in a blue moon.
9) Some of the reasons to remove a moderator from his/her position is because of the moderators inactivity over a long period of time or moderator abusing his status.
10) What a moderator should not do is delete or close the given topics because you disagree with ONLY the posters opinions even though it is created in a civil manner. You are not monitoring opinions but behavior.
11) Attempt to first modify the message unless it is fully violating the rules (NO_ Provocations / Extremism / Primitivism / Spamming) then you can delete it. If we are talking about whole topics (with / without replies) in that case transfer it to forum named !! Transferred Deleted Topics !! .
12) If you believe that the topic should be closed because the nature of the topic is (in your opinion) not 'suitable' for the forum (although it is not really breaking any major rules) then transfer it to forum named to forum named !! Transferred Deleted Topics [/link] after what I will take a look at it and determine what to do with it (modify it, leave it, reopen it or delete it).
The following is prohibited (if it should be deleted, transferred or modified):
13) Inciting ethnic, national, racial or religious hatred and intolerance.
14) Soliciting violence and expressing threats.
15) Troll, i.e., disturbing discussions by texts completely out of the context of discussion, and Spam.
16) Violating privacy rules, such as, but not limited to, publication of a name and surname or other private data of the participants in discussions or third persons, except the well-known data about publicly known persons, publication of a third persons' e-mail, as well as violation of other privacy rules laid down by the ezboard's terms of use.
17) Use of profane words and expressions by the means violating these rules or disturb civilized level of discussion, or responding to the deleted texts, or replying to a banned participant in the discussion.
18 ) Insulting participants in the discussion. If participants are replying to an insulting text, they take a chance of having their response removed as well. Instead, it is suggested to urge the moderators to remove the texts containing insults, or the texts violating these rules by other means. Such messages should be deleted or if we are talking about entire topics with replies (again) then it should be transferred to forum named !! Transferred Deleted Topics !! .
19) Messages violating the referred rules shall be deleted and topics should be transferred to forum named !! Transferred Deleted Topics !! .
20) Topics that are posted in wrong forum (that have no bearing / relation / connection whatsoever with that particular forum where they are originally posted) but do not violate any rules should be transferred to its proper forum according to the subject of the topic. When topics are transferred to some other forum there should be a note written in the forum named !! Transferred Deleted Topics !! as to the name of the topic and to what forum is that topic transferred to.
21) In case moderator are not sure where the topic that should be transferred out of that particular forum (look #17) belong to (or are lazy to look up) can also have these topics transferred to forum named !! Transferred Deleted Topics !! where I will determine where they belong and after transferring it I will also leave the message in "Transferred Deleted Topics" forum.
22) Participants having committed major violations of these rules shall be temporarily or permanently banned from the ezboard Illyria and as a penalty some or all of their postings (except ones with many replies, out of respect for other posters) will be deleted .
23) New additional forum (Anti)Propaganda forum was created as a place to post or counter (including distrupting and factless) propaganda that might be disrupting the normal course of the forum interaction and creating tensions. Thus such (counter) propaganda should be transferred to forum named !! Transferred Deleted Topics !! . Not any type of Propaganda Posts deserves to be placed in Propaganda Forum since Propaganda Forum (unlike ForumBarbarum or InsaneAsylum where almost anything goies) are strictly adult oriented and ranging from academic to pseudo-academic postings.
24) I do not tolerate anti-Hellenic or any other propaganda ( = any such opinions not backed up by facts). As I consider Illyrians but a branch of wider Hellenistic world (Hellenism being THE ONLY PROVABLE AND TRACEABLE cornerstone of ancient Balkans / Haimos including southern Illyria while Hellenism is by far the shiniest star from Europe and its cornerstone that shines over the entire planet) I take insults directed at Hellenes/Hellenism very personally (perfect way to get banned!). People with marks attached to their nicks ('instigator!') are also being given clues since I have written in rules that constant Instigators (marked as 'Grand Instigator!') will not be tolerated and will be banned outright!
25) Also be aware of the Rules of discussion to be observed !!! (by all participants) and , so there is no confusion, my messages/posts are of limits for moderators since they are needed to monitor other forum participants - not me!. >:
Last Note: THE Purpose of Illyria Forums is to instill wisdom in people or help them achieve it ('Sophos' in ancient Greek) and create more open minded, well informed, well rounded and generally wiser individuals (one might call them 'Haimians' pronounced 'Hemians', from ancient and original name for Balkans which was Haimos, pronounced 'Hemos') that would not feel out of place among Sophists in intellectual Agora of ancient Athens. Thus another purpose of this forum would be to decrease the number of close-minded dogmatic tribalists (one might call those 'Balkanians'). Thus more 'Haimians' and less 'Balkanians'. More individuals and less tribalists. More thinkers and less followers. (PS: Most of the mods (in fact a great majority at least) I have selected to moderate my forums would fall under the group I would classify here as 'Haimians' and I must note that many have started out in these forums as balkanian tribalists.)
