Montenegro: Cocaine shipment seized 29 April 2008 Montenegrin and Croatian police have cut off a drug smuggling ring yesterday, making two arrests.
The Montenegrin police stated that the two suspects are directors of the Esko company from the Montenegrin town of Rožaje, adding that they were using their company’s license to import agricultural products as a front for organizing, financing and smuggling 15 kilograms of cocaine from Ecuador.
The cocaine was smuggled through several countries into the region. The police believe that a portion of the drugs was hidden in frozen fruit pulp and shipped to the port of Bar.
The container was then taken to Rožaje where it was sent through customs.

The remaining 14 kilograms was found in a raid by the Croatian police in the territory of Croatia.
Montenegrin police stated that intense investigation is ongoing in order to uncover the other individuals who participated in the international drug smuggling ring.
