Podgorica /29/05/ 12:01 June 16 has been frequently mentioned as a possible date for eventual decision by Montenegro to recognize Kosovo's independence. Media in Podgorica say June 16 was mentioned during regular contacts between Montenegrin officials and the Euro-Atlantic allies. Montenegrin foreign ministry neither confirmed nor denied the information. Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic said on Wednesday that no one is putting pressure on Montenegro to recognize Kosovo independence. "Montenegro is a serious partner of the international community and our cooperation is based on principles of consideration and not putting pressures and setting conditions," Djukanovic said, adding that his country will follow the national interests regarding this issue, and described EU and NATO membership as strategic goals. /end/ Copyright 2008 makfax.
