We must fight for our national interests in Montenegro, and that can be done by winning power and participating in the government”, Dacic said at the opening of “Business Conference – Serbia and the Diaspora” in Belgrade.
Prime Minister said that the essence of the matter is that Serbs need to organize, and not just “talk, kiss, hug, cheer and swear in love and faithfulness, and that beyond that there is nothing else.”
BELGRADE – Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic said that members of the diaspora can fight for Serbia’s national interests only by taking part in government in the countries where they live, pointing out that Serbian government should create investment incentives and recognize the potential of its diaspora.
Exactly !!!!!

US entomologists have made progress in a quest to emulate an anti-bedbug defence that is part of Balkan folklore. But thanks to an unusual combination of Balkan folklore and nanoscale science, the pesky critter may have met its match. In a journal of Britain's prestigious Royal Society, US entomologists on Tuesday reported progress in a quest to emulate anti-bedbug defence found in the hairs of leaves from the kidney-bean plant, known by its Latin name of Phaseolus vulgaris. In rural Bulgaria, Serbia and other parts of the Balkans, these leaves are scattered on the floor next to the bed, snagging the blood-sucking little parasites during their night-time forays. The following day the leaves are burned to exterminate the pests. Eager to find how the trick works, the scientists used high-speed video cameras and scanning electron microscopy to study lab bedbugs which had been coaxed into trotting across a bed of leaves. The investigators were surprised to find that the bedbugs were not trapped by some Velcro-like mechanism which entangled their legs or bodies. Instead, they discovered the leaves are studded with extremely sharp points called trichomes that pierce the bedbugs' legs at critical locations. Impaled on several legs at the same time, the bugs are doomed. The next step was to copy the leaves, using them to make a bedbug barrier that is durable and can be used on any surface, not just the floor. An imitation prototype closely resembles the original, but needs further work, as it only harpoons bugs temporarily, the biologists admit. "Nature is a hard act to follow, but the benefits could be enormous," said team member Michael Potter of the University of Kentucky. "Imagine if every bedbug inadvertently brought into a dwelling was captured before it had a chance to bite and multiply."

TIRANA -- The Albanian government has offered asylum to 210 members of an Iranian opposition group that currently live at a former U.S. military base near Baghdad.
Prime Minister Sali Berisha said Saturday after meeting with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Barbara Leaf, the U.N. envoy in Iraq, Martin Kobler, and other officials that asylum was offered to the group dubbed Mujahedeen-e-Khalq for "humanitarian reasons," AP has reported. Iraq's government is eager to have the group, Mujahedeen-e-Khalq , out of the country.
The group opposes Iran's clerical regime and carried out assassinations and bombings in Iran until renouncing violence in 2001, AP points out.
Its members fought in the 1980s alongside Saddam Hussein's forces in the Iran-Iraq war.

Perišić’s defense requested from the court to quash the initial sentence because it has not been proven that the Republic of Srpska Army (VRS) supported the crimes.
The key argument of the defense’s appeal was Moloto’s ascertainment that waging a war was not a crime.
^^^ This is why I mentioned in the heading, FIRST OF MANY ACQUITALS

Hague Tribunal acquits ex-Yugoslav Army chief
THE HAGUE -- The Hague Tribunal has acquitted former Chief of the General Staff of the Yugoslav Army General Momčilo Perišić of all charges for crimes in Bosnia and Croatia.
The Hague Tribunal Appeals Chamber ordered that Perišić, who was originally sentenced to 27 years in prison, be released immediately. This is the final verdict in the case against Perišić.
He was sentenced to 27 years in prison in September 2011. Perišić was originally found guilty aiding and abetting crimes committed in Zagreb and Bosnia-Herzegovina between 1993 and 1995.
The initial verdict was adopted with the majority of votes of French and Argentinean judges Michele Picard and Pedro David. South African judge Bakone Moloto had an opposing opinion and believed Perišić should have been acquitted.
The Serbian authorities were not particularly interested in Perišić’s trial even though it was one of the most important cases in the Hague Tribunal.
Hague Tribunal President Theodor Meron announced the final verdict on Thursday.
Perišić’s defense requested from the court to quash the initial sentence because it has not been proven that the Republic of Srpska Army (VRS) supported the crimes.
The key argument of the defense’s appeal was Moloto’s ascertainment that waging a war was not a crime.
Perišić voluntarily surrendered himself to the Hague Tribunal on March 7, 2005. His trial started on October 2, 2008 and he pleaded not guilty to all counts of the indictment.

It is really simple, an opurtunity was present for this guy to become a criminal and he took it, now his ass will be some prisoners trophy and that is it..end off..where he comes from means nothing. i call this entepreneural spirit, i take my hat off to anyone who has the balls to do that
Nah just a typical criminal, as is evident from his statement below they are like rats that will turn on each other, nothing to be taking your hat off for.
Dumani denied during the trial that he was involved in drug dealing, claiming he was the victim of a series of “inexplicable shocks”. He said he owned the BlackBerry when the photo of him was taken – but had later given the phone to Memia.
Dumani claimed he never entered the Milnpark Gardens flat – and insisted he sat on the doorstep whenever Memia went in.

Ouch !! hardly unbiased, I have read Christopher Hitchens's works before, the most memorable would be his unbelievable critisism of mother teresa, also his stupid rants on Muslims etc none of his work can be considered unbiased. But this piece has cold hard facts that Serbs need to examine and understand, however it is written in a total derogative manner, it is very clear though why most of these so called Unbiased neutral sources always start at 1389.

Obilic being an alb .
I am guessing that the confusion lies with the word Kopil ?, while I generaly like Noel Malcolms studies, his bias and or deliberate negligence does shine in his work, such a shame. Kopil is also a Serbian word which Malcolm so convieniently neglects to inform his readers. I am of the opinion that Milos Obilic did not exist and this name was given to an unnamed hero who gutted the Sultan (Konstatine wrote about the assasination but did not name the assasin).
karadjordje.
I didnt know that Albanians where trying to claim him ?? But there is no doubt as to who"BlackGeorge" belongs to, he was A Serb, Dordje Petrovic and if anyone needs a outside source documenting him they need only look in th Austrian Army archives, he and his acheivments are well documented, so there is not a chance he could of been Albanian.

its deffinitely the same noble family but both albs and serbs appear to be claiming them, now i do not want to fall into the trap of arguing a point blindingly because we have always been told that the balshaj family was albanian and they had many disputes with serbian rulers and other albanian nobility like Topiaj and Dukagjini,
Your reference is concerning Balsa II, The disputes were first with Duras Illijic (Crnojevic family) who was the ruler of upper Zetta His sons killed Duras and the Balsic family had entire rule of Zeta, he later took on the Topia Family and eventualy defeated karl and ruling over Duress, Karl Topia called on the Ottomans to help and the Sultan sent an army who defeated Balsa II's army and Ivanis Mrnjavcevic's forces (Mrnjavcevic was the ruling family in Macedonia) and chopped off Balsa II's head. Durad II Balsic succeded Balsa II, Durad was the son from Balsa I's second son ( Stracimir)and so Balsa II was his uncle.

Ok I think the Balsic family and its founder Balsa one is settled and we can now move on to dukeduka's other claims, Well... as for beginning; the daughter of the Krajl of Servia was married to Murat ( Truce between Servia and Ottomans).
Hmm, I really am not sure here, I know Olivera was married off to Bayezid I but I dont know which Serbian princess was married to Murad perhaps you could clear this up and then we can move on.

balshajt are a noble albanian family and that name still prevails in that region,
Could be but this Balshajt family has no links to what we have ben discussing here, Balsa III had an only son (heir) who died a child in 1415 so at the time of Balsa III death there was no more heirs and Balsa III left all to his uncle Stefan "the tall" Lazarevic.
The Balsic family whos founder was Balsa I is gone, no descendents are left.
A lot of the Balsic family is easily traced because the oldest legislative document of Zeta exists it was recorded in 1368 And also a decree by Balsa II in 1395.
So again I am telling you that there is no Serbian epic poetry in my posts nor are there Albanian attempts to rewrite history.
