listen here, one F-16 or mirage 2000 costs 50 millions dollars.right now we have about 200 of them. And they are not enough.Concider also the cost of frigates, submarines, rocket launchers etc...Turkey will soon buy 100 F-35. we are the ONLY member of the E.U which faces a serious threat from a neighbor.no matter what Desire says. Do you realise now how this money that we borrow is being spent? The great powers need to shell weapons.think about that. of course, corruption is also a serious problem.the people demand some punishment of corrupted politicians!!! Inform me why Greece spends half of their budget on Military?? Turkey will never attack Greece.. Turkey is just flexing his muscles and buying these toys for show and what does greece do? They do the same thing but Turkey isn't in debt.

And I don't know how civilized you are for attacking your immigrants in the streets. They are not "our immigrants", they are out-law immigrant/criminals and we must drop them out as well. Who says so...an anti-Greek like you? No one cares what you say.

They were not shopkeepers but out-law immigrants/criminals. If you care so much about them(I doubt it), we can send them to you, so to stay in your house, all of them. Otherwise...shame on you.

I hope this economic turmoil in Greece makes all the immigrants flock to greener pastures, Germany, Sweden etc. They do it better. Let the great 'aryan' people have them.

Crimes happen. That's no excuse for assaulting innocent people. What kind of logic is that? +1 for the slam on this intolerance.

This is the normal behavior of people when they lose their jobs... It happened in Turkey in '55 with the pogroms ... it started the ball rolling in Nazi Germany and it happened right here in Quebec in the '70's.Pray there are no killings yet....

You are quite correct, and sadly, this intolerance is a direct result of letting ones emotions get the better of them, and focusing the blame only on outsiders. I also would not like to see people die over this.

Ancient Greeks may have never had immigrants but modern greece was founded by immigrants.. Unhistoric anti-Greek nonsense, the only immigrants in Greece were Greek refugees from Greek colonies as well, forget minorities such as Vlahs, Arvanites etc. Those always were very few and already Greeks in race.

Drop foreigners out of Greece now, send them all in the house of Bulgempire and if he don't condescend them...well...shame on him. P.S. Ancient Greeks never had foreigner immigrants among them. Ancient Greeks had many immigrants among them. The wife of Pericles, for instance, was Persian. The slaves that the Greeks owned--which would eventually be released and assimilated--came from many parts of Europe. The Ionians in Asia Minor mixed with local Anatolians and on Crete, the Minoans--who would later be subdued by the Myceneans--were originally from northern Egypt. However, this was not the point that you, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, and other Greeks brought up. You claimed that the immigrants that were attacked were outlaws and criminals. The sources show otherwise and you now defend the abuse against the immigrants by saying that there's no place for them in Greece and that they should leave. Although I can agree that loss of jobs can lead to intolerance, it is also about the culture of the people. In Spain, where the unemployement lies at 20 percent, there are no pogroms. These kind of actions are in direct contradiction to the true Greek culture and Byzantine traditions. You people have betrayed your past and you have showed once again that you are not civilized, but cruel and savage. Shame on you!

The slaves that the Greeks owned--which would eventually be released and assimilated--came from many parts of Europe. The Ionians in Asia Minor mixed with local Anatolians and on Crete, the Minoans--who would later be subdued by the Myceneans--were originally from northern Egypt. Wrong as always. Aspasia was Greek.Aspasia (ca. 470 BC[1][2]–ca. 400 BC,[1][3] Greek: Ἀσπασία; English pronunciation: /æˈspeɪziə/ or /æˈspeɪʒə/) was a Milesian woman who was famous for her involvement with the Athenian statesman Pericles.
Aspasia was born in the Ionian Greek city of Miletus (in the modern province of Aydın, Turkey). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AspasiaThe slaves of Greece were Greeks(prisoners of war) and only some few of them were from neighbor countries. There is not any evidence that the Greeks assimilated any non-Greek slaves, after their liberation, the few non-Greek slaves, moved to their countries. The Ionians of Asia Minor never mixed with any Anatolians, there is not any evidence for that and even if they mixed with them, there is not any racial mix when you are of the same anthropolical type, both were Mediterraneans as well, only their ethnicities and launguages separated them from each other. The Minoans of course were not from northern Egypt, there is not any evidence for that. They were indigenous European Aegean Mediterraneans(according to the Anthropologist Dr. Aris Poulianos). Ancient Greeks never had any immigrants among them. No one cares what others do, we only care what we do. Shame goes for you as you are a liar, irrelevant and anti-Greek as well. The Greeks never came in contradiction to the Greek cultureand the Byzantine traditions. We never betrayed our past and we are the most civilized people on planet earth, we are not cruel and never savage, only you say something like that as you are an anti-Greek propagator as well. You better tell us now how much civilized you are to your country... Out-Law immigrants started all this, as they slaughtered a father of three children and husband of a pregnant woman, in the middle of the road. It was just Greek wrath...

The Greeks are a cruel people, Hellenas. You don't know who killed the Greek father, so you started to attack random people who don't fit your criteria. Some Greeks do care, though; so speak for yourself when you say that you don't care what others think. But if you think that you're so great and are not concerned of what others think, then go ahead and isolate yourself. If you did this badly with millions of tourists visiting your country and billions of euro in aid and loan, I wonder how well you'll do on your own.
I told the people I know to go to Turkey for vacation, as Turks are far more civilized and friendly. They heed my advice.
As for the slaves... the Ionians purchased non-Greek slaves from their Blacksea colonies.

Who are you, the chief on the ethical treatment of minorities in Europe? To make a broad generalization like the one above quoted (by you), not only makes you look racist yourself but also an asshole.

I told the people I know to go to Turkey for vocation, as Turks are far more civilized and friendly. They heed my advice. That's very funny... Turks are far more civilized and friendly...sure...they just drowned in blood whole Eastern Europe. Do you have any proof for that or you just say so? Even if this ever happened, when they emancipated, they returned back to their countries.

Drop foreigners out of Greece now, send them all in the house of Bulgempire and if he don't condescend them...well...shame on him. P.S. Ancient Greeks never had foreigner immigrants among them. Yes they did. They were called Metics. A metic in ancient Greece was either an immigrant or descendants of immigrants. Since citizenship as a Greek in ancient Greece was a gift given to a metic by the City-State they lived in, it was virtually impossible for a metic to become a citizen because the gift was hardly ever given to metics. One could not tell if someone was a metic because they were completely integrated in the society. They could be dirt poor or the richest. They could even be speakers since the status of a speaker as citizen or metic was never mentioned. So, yes. There were immigrants in ancient Greece. You just could not tell who they were.
