OK OK people I think I should say this that the Balkanians then, were a VERY religious people,so of course changing their religion like that just because of a new ruler wouldnt be easy.So I dont think they changed just to fit in like that. Another thing to establish is that, the reasons for them converting were a variety. There was force, there was those who didnt want the heavy tax, there were those who wanted to marry Muslim, those who wanted to do some job who had to be Muslim, there were those who wanted to fit in and so on. Lets look at the ethnic groups of the Balkans and see the religious composition: 1. Bosniaks-Muslims 2. Croats-Christians 3. Serbs-Christian majority and then Muslim Goranis minority 4. Macedonians-Christian majority and then Muslim Torbeshis minority 5. Bulgarians-Christian majority and then Muslim Pomaks minority 6. Greeks-Christian majority and then Muslim "Turkish" minority 7. Vlachs-Christian majority and then Muslim(Megleno) minority 8. Albanians-Muslim(Tosk) majority and then Christian(Gheg) minority 9. Romanis-High numbers of both Christians and Muslims 10. Turks-Muslims Yes,for the Greeks, those that went to Islam are Turks! Well, all Muslim Balkanian are "Turks" in the eyes of non-Muslim Balkanians but for the Greeks they didnt have their own name. I modified this post of mine because I forgot about the Albanians. And I want to add that yes I know that that's not the case with Tosk Albanians anymore on being Muslim majority

Interesting theme where we have a special name for an ethnicities Muslim converts & yet Bosniaks claim to be some sort of special case that skip over the Serb & Croat ethnicities & claim some sort of Illryian connection.

My other quote, was then "to/beside the kangaroos" kod kengure...znas kako ides kod muje..you can go to his hiouse or beside him :-) Na hrvatskom se kaze KLOKAN a na srpskom KENGUR. lol I can totally see why you would call a kangaroo a klokan rather than a kengur.

Aside the fact that I, really, didn't understand the first part of your post, Bosniaks don't really "want" to claim anything, it's more the other way around, Vuk Karadzic in his works already writes how he's displeased that people in Bosnia and Croatia claim illyrian ancestry and that should be changed to a "pure" slavic ancestry. Which just can't happen, simply because it has been proven that "slavic" is a linguistic bond. If you care to re elaborate the first part I'll answer to that too
